Nayquan Wright committing to us soon?

No, they aren't.

Clinton Portis was a small RB and he was a difference maker for the 2001 championship team.

There are very few big-time big backs in college football. Davenport is the only one that Miami has had - and he was really only big-time before the knee injury in his freshman year.

Erickson had most of the bigger backs at Miami - James Stewart, Donnell Bennett, Larry Jones...they were all solid RBs, but I don't remember any of them being big timers....

Wasn't Edge pretty big?

James Stewart was a monster

If I'm not mistaken, he ran a 4.3, which is insane for his size. Too bad Erickson never invested in a good OL for him. Not to mention, the one man back system that was incredibly predictable with the running game.

To Erickson the running game was secondary. All that considered he still balled for us. Was another victim of Minnesota professional sports.

Yup, still got his rookie card.

Carol City product, so it's easy to guess Miami here. Listed as the number 3 RB in the nation (2019) and a top 25 player overall. Would be massive.

Nay'quan Wright, Miami Carol City, Running Back

Richt not playing around. Also saw somewhere that Noah Cain was gonna committ to us soon too. Lingard and Davis this year, Wright and Cain next year, will look just like the backfield we had in the late 90's/early 00's.

Nothing will ever come close to Edge followed by Portis, McGahee and Gore with James Jackson and Najeh sprinkled in. That's 45000 yards in the NFL.

Maybe not but we'll get an A for effort.

RedSquare: I agree with #1 , Miami Springs in the late 70s. Freddie Miles was amazing. legs were tree trunks, say him play. But Frank Gore has to be 1B not 2.

Dukes HS tape is one of the best I've ever seen

that was a good one, no doubt.

in order of the best in south florida high school history:

1. Freddie Miles
2. Frank Gore
3. Duke Johnson
4. Elvis Peacok
5. Joe Brodsky

Parrish and Gore's the same year was fun to watch, my buddies who didn't give a crap about UM loved watching those two when we got that VHS tape in back in the day. Devin Hester's was ridiculous, so was Sean's. Vince Wilfork's was hilarious, it was like watching a grizzly bear throwing around a bunch of midgets.

I'm a 2001 high school grad so you know who my vote goes for as Dade's greatest RB, but Freddie Miles is a LEGEND. My mom(Ty's mom also) went to Springs with him, we're from the same neighborhood. It's unfortunate how his life turned out though. The first time I heard of him was when I was a youngin, about 5th grade. I was coming out of the corner store and there was a guy across the street that you could tell was wrasslin' with that Crack Monster. The guys who hung out at the store drinking beers after work started to talk to him. "Hey Freddie, what's up man you been taking care of yourself?!?!", "Booooy, you was a baaaad mutha****a!!!!", etc., etc. I asked one of my older neighbors "who's that baser?". He said "That's Freddie Miles, he should've been one of the greatest NFL RB's ever. Do your best in school and don't **** with no dope!!!" Willis is from the same hood, but if you asked all the cats in their late forties and older who's the best from around the way, they'd say he couldn't hold Freddie Miles' jockstrap. My little corner of Brown Sub-Liberty City has produced a lot of talent.

Spot on ... with all due respect to the RB's who have been just amazing football players in south florida, Freddie Miles was the best ever.

The rest were fighting for 2nd place.

I'm very young (by the standard of this board anyways), but I'm really curious if anyone can link me to some of freddie Miles's HS tape? If that's even possible of course. IMO, just from what I could see and from my age group, Duke had the filthiest highlight tape I've ever seen.
