Nayquan Wright committing to us soon?

I prefer Cain, crazy vision and balance for a guy that size. Wright, you can't go wrong with him either. One of them would be outstanding in a class, both.....shoot, forget about it college football.

Carol City product, so it's easy to guess Miami here. Listed as the number 3 RB in the nation (2019) and a top 25 player overall. Would be massive.

Nay'quan Wright, Miami Carol City, Running Back

Richt not playing around. Also saw somewhere that Noah Cain was gonna committ to us soon too. Lingard and Davis this year, Wright and Cain next year, will look just like the backfield we had in the late 90's/early 00's.

The '01 team had the greatest backfield in college football history with Portis/Gore/McGahee/Davenport. Would kill for that again.

33,000 nfl yards from that group.

Thurman Thomas and Barry Sanders greatest backfield in College Football history. Love my Canes, but gotta give respect where it's due.
Gore had a better nfl career than thomas and that's on multiple knee surgeries. And Portis had more ypc, more tds in fewer games. And McGahee as the third in that group had as many tds as thomas in nfl. Not to mention Najeh.

Sanders was obviously the best of the group. But Gore and Edge will wind up in the HOF with Thomas, or **** well should. And both were better, imo. And the yards from UM'/ group were superiod, if that's your tie breaker.

Gore had a better nfl career than thomas and that's on multiple knee surguries. Edge probably dod too (more yards, more tds). And Portis had more ypc, more tds in fewer games.

The only thing better about the OK State backfield was Sanders. Gore and Edge will wind up in the HOF with Thomas, or **** well should.

Yeah, but Thomas clearly had a better NFL career than McGahee, Davenport, and Portis. And I'm not so sure about Gore having a better career than Thomas (a former league MVP and Heisman finalist which I think some people forget). Multiple first team all pro-selections. More rushing TD's. Not saying you're wrong, but it's close.

Barry speaks for himself. He plays even a few more seasons and just he and Thomas have more yards and TD's than our legendary backfield. Again, it's no knock on what we had. It's just that Thomas and Sanders were some all timers.

No, they aren't.

Clinton Portis was a small RB and he was a difference maker for the 2001 championship team.

There are very few big-time big backs in college football. Davenport is the only one that Miami has had - and he was really only big-time before the knee injury in his freshman year.

Erickson had most of the bigger backs at Miami - James Stewart, Donnell Bennett, Larry Jones...they were all solid RBs, but I don't remember any of them being big timers....

Titles are won with D. Henry, Zeke Elliott type backs. Not 5'8 195. I think Wright is excellent and want him in the class but Cain is the alpha

Wasn't Edge pretty big?

James Stewart was a monster

If I'm not mistaken, he ran a 4.3, which is insane for his size. Too bad Erickson never invested in a good OL for him. Not to mention, the one man back system that was incredibly predictable with the running game.

Kid is already a sprinter on the track team running just over 11 seconds already.

I prefer Wright over Cain in 2019. Wright is way faster and more elusive. Cain is s truck with good vision, but lacks top end speed.

That being said, I'd take both of them. But NayQuan is the more talented player, in my opinion.

Isnt all about speed.

I understand that, but the U was built on speed. NayQuan is a more talented back, in my opinion.

Cain is also gifted, but in other ways. His speed is average, and in top division 1, Power 5 conference football, it makes a difference.

As I stated before, Cain exhibits great vision and strength. Plus he is patient and has good feet for a big man.

However, I just think NayQuan is on another level overall.

really? Bratton? Bennett? Anderson? McGuire? Highsmith? Gary?

No need to debate this but you're wrong about thomas having more rushing tds than gore. Gore has more yards, more tds, more rushing tds, and more ypc.

To Erickson the running game was secondary. All that considered he still balled for us. Was another victim of Minnesota professional sports.
