Naim Mustafaa DE from Okie State

8 days ago people thought this kid was a done deal to sign with Hawaii. The staff just swooped in and got another one.

I've always wondered why more recruits don't sign with Hawaii. Get to live in paradise and go to school for free.

So how come this guy is already on the roster but Renfrow, Kamalu, Derosier, and Gilbert are walking around at practice with their heads down kicking rocks?

Do we have a running list of schools where we've picked up players from?

Wisconsin
Nebraska
UVA
Ok State

?

Kid needs some coaching, as any 18 year old coming from HS would, but his frame is sick. You could create a really big rush 3/4 LB

Just watched this kid's highlight tape and he has a motor that never stops. He goes hard all the time even when the plays were on the other side of the field, I like this pickup a lot.

Kamalu is on the roster. Can't speak to why he isn't practicing. Final grades for Wisconsin/Gilbert might be in today. Derosier just got his grades in last week. No idea with Renfrow. AQM got to Miami on a Tuesday. Wasn't on the roster until later in the week. Those guys have to fill out paperwork that has to be looked at and cleared by the school and the NCAA.

From OK Newspaper:

Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy confirmed Monday at Big 12 Media Days that Naim Mustafaa, a true freshman defensive end regarded as one of the Cowboys’ top signees of the 2013 recruiting class, left the program during the summer.

Mustafaa, a four-star prospect from Alpharetta (Ga.) Alpharetta, enrolled early at OSU so he could participate in spring practice. But Gundy said Mustafaa did not return to campus for summer workouts.

Mustafaa’s departure, which was first reported by the Tulsa World, is reflected on an updated version of OSU’s roster on the school’s official website.

Mustafaa was a bit of a surprising recruiting pickup for OSU, as he was a longtime Georgia commit before flipping his pledge to the Cowboys in early January in time to enroll for the spring semester.

The loss of Mustafaa is a blow to a defensive end unit that is arguably OSU’s biggest question mark heading into 2013. The Cowboys must replace three players that started last season in Nigel Nicholas, Ryan Robinson and Cooper Bassett.

Returners include senior Tyler Johnson, sophomores Trace Clark and Jimmy Bean and redshirt freshmen Victor Irokansi, Emmanuel Ogbah, Jeremiah Tshimanga and Eric Davis. Newcomers include junior college transfer Sam Wren, who arrived in the spring, and true freshman Vili Leveni
