My Final Thoughts

Great job as well Pete. Tito and Cameron too. Can't wait for the 2014 stuff to start.

I'm excited most about Coley and all the new pass rushers. Bond and Muhammed to go with a sophmore McCord bulked up is an awesome thought considering we had 13 sacks all season 2012.

Still think Grace is the better LB prospect

Would've been more ****ed if he went elsewhere than Thomas going to FSU

New to this site Pete (like less than a week) and you've done an unreal job, thank you mucho! Any possibility you could elaborate on Alex Collins and Kirk? I guess I'm asking if you wouldn't mind speculating on those two situations. I don't think it's a councidence they're both at Arkansas. I know EVERYONE played up our sanctions for recruits but is there a chance Bret B. went extra hard on sanctions to convince these two that late.

For Kirk, do you really think he was coming to us before the debacle? He seemed almost as bad as Bryant in terms of attention loving. Collins decision Monday any affect on Kirk?

Thanks again

Although Matthew Thomas to FSU was not a surprise this morning, it was still a painful one to see if you're a Miami fan..... One interesting note that a source told me prior to today was that Miami recruited him harder than anybody in Golden's three classes at Miami, so if Miami ended up losing him (which they did) then he wasn't going to come here all along. The staff put out as much effort as they possibly could into him, but in the end he still chose to head North.

Thanks Pete.

This excuse does not cut it (he wasn't coming here all along, blah blah.)

We don't show up and cheer for effort. This is ******* MIAMI. We expect to win multiple national titles.

Gee Al Golden, you really tried your hardest. Aww shucks. No, sorry, it doesn't work that way. We pay for RESULTS.

I don't care how hard the staff ******* worked. They didn't get it done today. In fact, they outright failed to close the best linebacker recruit we will ever see in South Florida, and that's just the facts. Whatever they did, they did it wrong.

I leave today unimpressed and discouraged. I think the staff failed to live up to the hype, and they are NOT doing what they need to do to get us to a position to play for national championships.

You can't win without the studs. PERIOD.

Lulz @ best LB recruit we'll ever see in South Florida

When did this ***** Thomas become a tall tale?

Wait... You really think Matthew Thomas is "the best linebacker recruit we will ever see in South Florida"?

Talk about not seeing the forrest for the trees. Did you miss the entire point of my post? Matthew Thomas was a CANT MISS STUD, right in our back yard. It's not acceptable to miss out on kids like that.

If Al Golden can win without him, hey, that's great. I won't judge him until after this season.

If he can't win this season, then I will rightly say he A.) Can't recruit South Florida and B.) Isnt' a winner.

He deserves no more honeymoon.

Anybody thought about the special teams implications of this class? No more walk ons on kickoffs. Put the assassins out there. If you don't wanna red-shirt, go prove it on the kickoff team and be a human missile. Fig, Burns, Carter, Grace, and pray god this starved caveman Edward Williams, would be quite a welcome site on Specials.

No, I see the point of your post just fine. I was just curious as to that particular statement.

You didn't just say Thomas was a can't miss stud, you said "the best linebacker recruit we will ever see in South Florida". That is an awfully bold proclamation right there.

So in your mind, the fact that Golden and Co. missed on Thomas means he can't recruit South Florida, despite landing such South Florida players like Tracy Howard, Deon Bush, Duke, Coley, etc... ? I'm honestly curious about your thoughts, not trying to be a smartass.

Well, whether you're trying to be a smartass or not, it's irrelevant to me.

Golden failed massively in South Florida this year. He missed on Collins, Bryant, Bain, Bostwick, Thomas, Kirkland, and several others (Greg Bryant, Rashard Robinson, McKenzie Alexander, etc)

We only ended up with like 3 recruits from south florida. SOUTH FLORIDA, the hottest recruiting bed in the country.

Rivals, ESPN, etc have us correctly ranked in the 20's. Which is exactly where this class deserves to be. Which is exactly where this team deserves to be in a couple years with our recruiting efforts.

If you don't understand what a massive fail that is, I have a bridge in new jersey I'd like to sell you.

But hey, go on and celebrate a class with guys like august edwards and and underweight jermaine grace.

ya-friggin-hoo.

2 best linebackers we've had in the last 7 years were "underweight"

Suger, you lose a lot of credibility in your position when you belittle Jermaine Grace's addition to this team.
