Mullen officially out

Eh, Fickell aint a sure thing or anything close. UF doesn’t have a QB, thats their biggest problem. Fickell has a veteran NFL QB and veteran team now and taking advantage. It would take him a few years down there minimum to build something up to there standards. Do they have the patience? Can he recruit in the SEC? A lot of question marks. JMO

I think Fickell has clearly earned a job at a much better program. Maybe he wants to go to Va Tech if they will pay him or some program where it is easier to dominate due to the conference.

At some point, some coach will come to the Coastal and see how easy/weak it is in this division.

Can I provide some context:

Prior to this yr, Mullen went 29-9 in 3 yrs, w/ a SEC East crown last season, 2-1 in NY6 bowl games. YET, he was on thin ice this season! Lol

Meanwhile, in Sunny Corral (pun on the word Corral) Gables, we have a coach who went 14-10 in his first two seasons, no division crowns, historic embarrassing moments in Hurricanes, ACC, & NCAA history, 0-2 in bowl games, have taken a bigger step back this yr…….And somehow, he’s not only still employed, but some r in his corner to get one more year!

We’re penny pinching yet UiF says fvck the buyout. 12 mil! We are an unserious program until proven otherwise.
Exactly!!! If we aren’t making the move because of the drop in buyout, then it sounds like the same ol same ol Miami

Crazy idea - what if Mullens, in an attempt to reset his career, came to UM as an OC with whomever we bring in, assuming it's not Lane. Obviously Lane would handle the O if he came.

This is why I'm still skeptical about the level of commitment by Miami. These other schools cut the throat whenever, regardless of when the buyout drops.

Oh good lord, everything has to be explained to you.

Unlike all those other schools that have already fired coaches, the current UM recruits actually like the current UM head coach. Nothing wrong with being as respectful as possible for as long as possible. No "throat-cutting" will get Miami a new head coach any faster. It would just be a move to placate uninformed and impatient fans.

Bright side for Don Mullin- this finally frees him up to accept the multiple NFL head coaching jobs that Gheytor fans and his slurpers in general have told us are on the table every year.

I'm thinking he gets the Raiders job. Keep an eye on the Bears too.

Wow, someone with a brain. People don’t realize how important this is for us. They just think some hump off the street or a tranny ***** paired up with Zo as God of Football is all we need.

It has been a long time since our last relevant season in 2003. We need the right AD first.
That’s fair and well, but we also dragged out feet on canning Blake for several weeks (years). Anyone with a shred of common sense knew they were packing too much into November and December in waiting to fire him, yet that is exactly what they did.

Ole Miss to UF is a lateral move, you don’t leave one SEC job for another one that’s not even as good.

UF doesn’t have a QB either, he’d be better off going back to USC than going to UF lol.
So Kiffin wants to leave the SEC East because he has to contend with Saban and LSU, but he will go to Florida and contend with Georgia? LoL. BTW, Florida plays LSU every year. From small college town to big college town. Still an hour and a half to the Atlantic or the Gulf from Gville. We give too much credit to Florida for hiring good head coaches. Meyer is the outlier. They have Zook, Muskrat, McEltooth, and Mullet. Not exactly the Mount Rushmore of College Football Head Coaches.

It doesn't matter when we fire Manny Diaz.

Its pretty obvious what the move here is.

The real problem comes if Mario says thanks but no thanks. Then things get sticky, but firing Manny a month ago...tomorrow...in a week...in two weeks from now doesn't really matter. Everyone knows he's gone. He's known he's out for a while.

Why do these posts keep coming up?

It is beyond obvious that our clearcut first choice is not yet ready to say yes. So if, in the process, we can ALSO save money, why do we need to rush something by six days?

NOT COMPLICATED.
