You say they turned around a program but ignore the fact that Temple was recently dropped to the MAC from the Big East.

You say that defense looked good and got us to 7-0, but ignore the fact that the first 5 teams we played had no passing game which means we didn't have to plan strongly against the pass and we could just load up the box. The next 2 teams were a garbage UNC and WF team that both nearly beat us. Every team we played that had anything close to an average passing game, looked like absolute stud offenses against us. These teams had better passing against us than they did the scrub teams we played.

You say our defense limited Florida, but ignore that Florida had one of their best passing games of the season against us and their passing game is absolute garbage. We got a couple picks because Driskell sucks.

You say we are expecting elite defense overnight. The problem is noone is asking for elite defense. Thank you for validating my point for me. I came out with facts. You predictably dodged them. This is not a coach bash, this is looking at the situation for what it is. The only reason I'm not full blown on the fire Golden wagon yet is because this is year 4 with all his players.

This is his fair shot with a team full of talent whether people want to admit it or not (and it's Golden's fault if that talent is not developed to their projections, that is his job correct?). Everyone keeps talking about we have no talent and that Duke apparently has done a better job getting talent than us during the cloud, but I see that we were consistently a top 20 recruiting ranking class (except one year - 36) while Duke can't even break the top 50. Randy got 4 years, and the cupboard was just as bare when he got it and his win progression is the same as Al's. Al had the cloud, so its likely at bare minimum he will get 5. With that said, the product on the field better look respectable this year. We play in one of the weakest BCS conference (is AAC even a BCS conference anymore?). Last year top 60 defense is all I asked for. This year, I expect top 40 or bust. 4 years, no more excuses.

You say our defense limited Florida, but ignore that Florida had one of their best passing games of the season against us and their passing game is absolute garbage. We got a couple picks because Driskell sucks.

I didn't realize asking for a defense not in the bottom quarter of NCAA defenses when we played a pretty weak schedule was too much to ask. We only played 2 teams with really good offense. Can you please list all of the elite talent on last years defense that Coach D was supposed to have taught some miracle to? As the talent increases so goes the defense.

I know fans want an elite defense overnight but unfortunately this rebuild is taking time. Fans joke about "Brick by Brick" but that is exactly how this rebuild is being handled. From the ground up on solid foundation.

Despite what fans want to think the talent level at Miami had become a joke by Miami standards. I think the coaching staff did a great job with 9 wins this past season considering what they had to work with.

If anybody thought Miami had a shot at beating Louisville in the bowl game then they are just retarded. That's on them as being delusional fans. The coaches have no control over unrealistic expectations. You don't snap your fingers and have a championship football program. Doesn't work that way.

The wins have increased and this past recruiting class was Goldens best yet. This next recruiting class can be even better. The defense will get better and better which will push the offense as it does. Patience....

We didn't "lose" to Louisville; we got absolutely embarrassed. Sorry, but there is no credible excuse for that abysmal performance in our first bowl game in three years.

And I was one of the minority on this board that did not expect us to win that game. I had the rather limited expectation that we would be prepared and play well, but would likely come up short in the end bc Bridgewater is a stud.

Louisville was a better team from top to bottom. Did I want a better showing out of Miami? Sure I did. Unfortunately things didn't go our way.

Again, name all of this elite talent on last years defense that coach D was supposed to work miracles with. I look down the defensive depth chart from last season and thought things could have been worse especially when Duke went down for the season. Scott was injured early. Dorsett missed games?

Most rational fans knew the offense would have to carry the team. They also knew if Duke went down the season was over. Then you throw in a QB that lived and died by the long ball and was terrible at sustaining drives and it is what it is.

The defense is getting better and will continue to do so as more talent gets to Miami. I'm enjoying watching the young guys grow up. Another recruiting class or two and Coker or Shannon could coach this team to 10 wins.

I never said we had a bunch of elite players on defense. In fact, I was one of those saying before last season that our talent and depth were still weak, particularly at the most important position - DT. Regrettably, that problem will persist for the foreseeable future bc of our recruiting failures.

But regarding Louisville, we got abused in all phases. Our offense was pathetic and unable to adjust to the most basic challenges - the DL jumping the snap and them dancing around while Morris looked to Coley for a play call. Those failures were inexcusable.

Similarly, our defense got embarrased.

The entire team was unprepared. We got beaten worse than the vast majority of the teams Louisbille played last year. That horrendous performance is attributable to more than the lack of elite defensive talent or any injuries. We got out coached.

Louisville was a much better team than Miami last year. Can't really compare how they did during the season against other opponents with what happened with a month to prepare for Miami.

Their defense was leaps and bounds better than our defense and you knew TB was going to score points. Not having Duke on offense changed the entire dynamic of the entire team. He's that good and was in pace to break records at Miami.

Bring in the talent and the coaching will look better and better.

And we had the same month to prepare for them. You wonder what we were doing, bc we looked anything but prepared.

There is no question that more talent will make any team more competitive. While Randy's wins we're trending upward his recruiting classes turned abysmal. The roster numbers were atrocious which was evidenced over the past three seasons. Randy also didn't have to deal with an NCAA investigation and all the negative recruiting that came with it. Get it?

The wins are increasing and the talent level is increasing with it. I'm glad Golden refuses to water down the system to make it easier on south FL players who the mopes want to play lighter and faster while not getting pushed around who are also incapable of learning such complicated schemezzz.
