More Sobering Stats - You Can't Hide From The Numbers

WTH made this same post in the WEZ and this was my response to a poster asking for strength of schedule.

Really doesn't mean much without some context as to each team's strength of schedule.

I don't agree.

Unless these teams are playing money games where they're getting a fat paycheck to come in and get their *** whooped and go home it shouldn't matter about strength of schedule.

This is the time of year where teams are knee-deep in conference play. I'm willing to be all these schools in the OP have relatively similar talent to the teams they're playing.

I think it is clear that we are underachieving (a lot) but you need to edit the stats for everyone and not just us.

Who gives a **** about everyone else? The notion that we need 4 and 5-star players at every position along with them being 5th year seniors is nonsense.

I'd say that the only team we've played in the last 5 weeks with better players than us is FSU. Every other team we've out-recruited.

And teams who have similar defensive rankings to us have far less talent to work with.

Really? Were at 54th in Total defense right now. Want to guess whose actually ranked WORSE on Defense than us? Take a guess? Eveyrone has been sucking his d*ck as the GOAT coach because he turned around a sh*tty team and he's considered a good offensive mind. His team starts with an A, and its not Alabama.

The great Mizzou juggernaut? Lower in total Defense.

TAMU with Johnny Heisman at an overhyped coach? 103!!! In the nation buddy. Wonder if TAMU fans are calling Sumlin a d0uchebag and hope he dies.



And just because, know where the Temple defense is now 3 years removed from Golden and Donofrio? 117th in the nation.

But Golden is a moron and cant coach.

And before anyone trots out that B.S. about "well their in a tougher conference now", guess what, its not the same confernce it was then EITHER. The AAC or whatever the F*ck its called is nothing but a dumpster of loser teams including old MAC, Conf USA, and Sunbelt rejects. So spare me the, Oh their conference is SO much tougher now. With powerhouses like Tulane, Tulsa, Navy, East Carolina, SMU, Memphis, etc...

Pretend we're comparing returns of stocks for similar companies over a period of time. It is not fair to adjust the period of time for one stock and only compare their return during this adjusted period to the returns of other stocks for a longer period. Adjust all the stocks or adjust none of the stocks.

Of course they arent. See my post. TAMU is 103rd in the nation in total Defense. LOL. Auburn is ranked lower than us in total D. So is Texas, Tennessee, Mizzou and a bunch of other programs. Were actually 23rd in Sacks and 12th in INTs this season. We have problems, but were not the worst defense in America.

And if were going to play that "oh but our scheduel sux", TAMU has played SMU, UTEP, Sam Houston State, and Rice. And are 103rd in the nation in total Defense. Guess TAMU fans should be egging Corch Sumlin's house too.

Since I measured our stats from the last 5 games vs their stats from the whole season, I’ll get the average ranking of the offenses each team has played during that time period.


Hopefully this provides more clarity for you…

The teams we are keeping company with…. And the average ranking of offenses they’ve played this season:
San Diego State – 40th
Hawaii – 41st
Washington St – 42nd
Nevada - 42nd
Air Force – 47th
Kent St – 57th
New Mexico State – 64th
Middle Tennessee – 65th
Massachusetts - 66th
Miami of Oho –70th

So we’ve faced equal OR WORSE offensive talent, and we still rank in near the 100s in everything, along with a bunch of team whose recruiting classes rank near the bottom of the country.

To further your point specifically, A&M gave up 432 Yards to SMU & 390 Yards to Sam Houston State. Sam Houston State, a DII school had close to 400 yards of offense against a Top 10 team. And yet, A&M fans aren't banging on the door calling for their DC to be replaced.

So, after investigating the defensive statistics through our last five games (conference games), we discovered they are flat out awful. People claim we don’t have the talent yet, which means you all believe we are about where we should be in most statistical categories.

Below, I will list where we ranked nationally over our last five games in various categories, as well as listing four teams ranked similarly.


I’ll also include the average ranking of each school’s last four recruiting classes (2009-2012 - excluding ’13 since it’s all true freshmen)

I will be using Rivals class rankings, because I can’t get ESPN’s rankings after 25, for some reason.

You arent using tangible evidence, you are making up b.s. facts by twisting statistics in order to fluff your argument. Which is UNnecessary, since NO ONE here is claiming that Dorito is some great DC, or that the defense doesnt have major issues. Everyone agrees we have major issues on defense, and that it is below average right now, but there is no need to gild the lilly with bullsh*t. Ive given you TWO examples of teams whose coaches people on here s*ck off like they are Gods, who have defenses ranked WORSE than ours, and some of their "opponents" included SMU, Rice, Sam Houston State, UTEP and Western Carolina, Arkansas State, and FAU. Neg all you want....Coach D is not going anywhere...NO WHERE...I agree that some are clinging to him like he is about to give us a top 5 defense...but to strut out numbers on rankings and positions is useless when there are 1000 of variables like turnovers, schedules etc.....

We suck bro, both sides of the ball, special teams, you name it we suck it right now...we have a punter that kicks everything 60 yards no matter where the ball is..we have returners that call for fair catches and fumbles or runs it back and fumbles. FG kicker that cant make 30yr Fgs...so again great work on the stats, but at the end of the day we suck all around..coaches, players fans and mostly administration
