This. Let's pull back a little on the belief that you need to start cultivating relationships with these kids (and their mamas, uncles, corches and mentors) from the moment they emerge from the birth canal. A 17 yr old kid will more often than not disregard that "relationship" for whatever is hot at the moment anyway. Sure, we'd probably have a better shot if Richt and staff had more time but let's not pretend like any of the time spent with a lot of these upper echelon kids means more than us winning and becoming more appealing to teenagers that get moist over frontrunners.

Yeah I'm not putting this on Golden. Why do you need to be recruited since the start of your Junior year (he's on his senior year now)? You should know everything you need to know about schools after surveying the roster, as well as being in the same city as one of the schools you're looking at. If he doesn't want to come here, that's fine. But to say it's because the new staff just started recruiting him is utter BS. Just say you want to go to Bama. And for the record, I'm not going to wish him any bad luck or anything like that. But I **** sure am not going to wish him luck and thank him for considering us. That's participation trophy mindset ish there.

We paid for elite coaching and whoever had took the miami job had to know ur going against saban and fisher all day. Its a tough job but u haveto win these battles for the elite guys
