Trevor Matich is on the Nashville sports radio every Tuesday so I asked him how long its going to take for the U to be one of the dominant teams again. He cited that exactly. He said when the U was dominant, they were able to get the alpha dog recruits in the Miami area. Those top recruits would get others to go and it would snowball. He said if they can start getting the top recruits from the Miami area to sign with Miami and they start winning, it will be the U III.

The only people I thought were more off than Bama folks was the Appalachian people. I don't know if the Bama fans are racist or not but that area certainly had a long history of bad stuff. I'm sure there's still a minority in that fan base who still rolls like that though.

This. Let's pull back a little on the belief that you need to start cultivating relationships with these kids (and their mamas, uncles, corches and mentors) from the moment they emerge from the birth canal. A 17 yr old kid will more often than not disregard that "relationship" for whatever is hot at the moment anyway. Sure, we'd probably have a better shot if Richt and staff had more time but let's not pretend like any of the time spent with a lot of these upper echelon kids means more than us winning and becoming more appealing to teenagers that get moist over frontrunners.
