More Fraudulent SEC Hype: Matt Canada To LSU

I just find it funny they wanted to be more of a passing team then hire a guy who has a power run scheme

Did they specifically mention wanting a pass-first guy? Or did they just want to open up the offense a bit more from the previous "three yards and a cloud of dust"? Canada may be a run-first guy but his offense is hardly just lining up in the I and handing to the tailback right up the gut. He uses innovative motion and formations to get defenses going one way while the play goes the other.

We'll see how he does overall. But remember this: LSU was putrid on offense. The bar is incredibly low there for offense, so he no doubt will improve it.

The question is, will he improve the offense enough to overcome a crap head coach like Orgeron and elevate the entire team and their performance?

Because no matter who the OC is, I do not see Orgeron lasting more than a couple to three years there.

I mean the fans have been wanting it, i think the AD had mentioned wanting to go that route and the kiffin talk made it seem like they would, i aint knocking canadas offense at all just found it funny that the fans were screaming for something more dynamic passing wise and hire him

Will he ever score a point on Saban's D?

LSU couldn't do it this year.

LSU is a total mess and they promoted a maniac DL coach from the failed coaching staff to fix it? Reminds me of when a certain school promoted their defensive coordinator (Randy Shannon) to replace a head coach that won a national title.

The Orgeron hire is guaranteed to fail. LSU was forced to make this move because nobody wants that job.

LOL well there's LSU's pitch to Smith. "We will use you like we used Henderson in Pitt". This was a great hire for them, he was very good at pre-snap movement to keep the defense guessing. They ran the ball very well, and had really creative passing schemes, needs good tight ends for his system though. Glad he is out of the Coastal for sure, the turn around that offense had in such a short period of time was great, glad he's not getting more time. He will be at LSU for 2-3 years then take a HC gig somewhere.

Put up over 40 against Veneables and the talent gap between Clemson and Pitt is a lot bigger than LSU and Bama

Kiffin was very smart to pass on the LSU job.

You are judged by what you do against that BAMA defense.

The talent gap between Alabama's defense and LSU's offense reminds one of the Grand Canyon.

His offense was creative but he also had a decent qb, outstanding rb and a fast *** wr for those jet sweeps. It will be interesting to see how he modifies his offense to fit the LSU talent

Matt Canada sounds like a washed up action hero from Ottawa whose career gets cut short due to his Vicodin addiction caused from the pain of doing his own stunts for so long.

This dude Matt Chaneyda is the real deal. Glad to have him out of Pitt. His offense is amongst the most dynamic in football.

Chise you've called these up and coming coaches with more regularity than most.

I'm curious.

Was our defense that good against them or did they not hit on all cylinders? We stymied the same team that rolling into Death Valley for the W the week after by putting up 40.

Next year our front 7 should be absolutely savage....

They said they wanted a "spread offense for a dual threat QB". I don't think they ever made specific mention of being a passing team.

And most of their message board fans want an offense like Ohio State ... The "Power-Spread".

lol at without conner lol....dog they have better players at lsu

Not at QB. Peterman at Pitt was vastly better than Harris or Etling.

its lsu they will have someone.......its like someone coming here. there recruiting base is legit

But in the end that was Miles downfall. He would get highly rated QB's who turned out to be garbage.

It could be argued the only reason Pitt had better QB play is specifically because of Canada. And that Harris or Elting might have had similar success if he was already at LSU.

Canada got Jacoby Brissett drafted out of NCSU ... It will be interesting to see who the starting QB for LSU is next year.

I mentioned this in a previous post, but they shot themselves in the foot against us. At least Two wide open dropped passes for sure fire TDs.
