Mizz's Sam

Not what I'm saying at all. I just think it's ridiculous that people use the Bible (which preaches to love everyone, and not judge others) to hate and cast judgment on people. The Bible says homosexuality is wrong in one, maybe two verses, I believe. One of which is in the old testament, where it also says wearing blends is wrong. My point is that people tend to only focus on certain things the Bible says not to do so it's convenient for them to hate others.

Don't want to make this a bliblical thread. I do agree with a lot of what you said. The thing that bothers me most is the disconnect between the church & the *** community. That has to get fixed. Not an easy sell though.

Probably the same way you came to the conclusion **** aren't born that way.

How can you say with certainty that they are? You can't prove it. That is your opinion. I said I didn't really know.. but I lean towards saying they are not. Could I be wrong? Absolutely. Only one of us is being obtuse about it though.

Do you believe people are born left handed? Or is it a choice?

Please link the *** gene.

They haven't found it yet. There is evidence that points to similarities between *** births but no *** gene yet. No one has figured out why people are born left or right handed either. Yet it's widely accepted that people are born that way and handedness isn't a choice. Yet no evidence to support that.

Strange discussion. I'm straight. One of my brothers was ***. We were raised in the same household, same parents, etc. I don't believe for a second that my brother chose to be ***, just like I never chose to be straight. Even though I knew he was ***, it was not an issue for me, but I never really understood why he was that way. Bottom line is he was born that way. I can't see discriminating against them in any way. But, we've gone way past tolerance and into celebration, which I also don't understand. I don't see what there is to celebrate.

Does your brother post here under the name sebastian91?

lol - No, he's dead.

AIDS?

Bear attack.

I knew DBC was ***. So were the kids he didn't pay child support for adopted?

Actually it's not an opinion. It's pretty strongly supported by science. Even brains scans show differences between *** people and straight people.

Did you choose to be straight? If you had to actively make the choice, then sorry to tell you , but you are bisexual. I know I never chose to be straight, and neither have most straight people I know. I'm simply not attracted to someone of the same ***. No choice to be made. Same with every *** person I know. They simply are not attracted to people of the opposite ***. Many have even tried to be straight and faked it for years.

People do it all the time. And I understand that it's a sin, according to the Bible. However, the Bible also says we are all sinners, so I don't see why people like to pick out this one sin to get their jimmies all rustled about.

Bingo. Just like I pointed out with divorce (rate is over 50% in the church), we all fall short. God doesn't love me anymore/less than Mr. Sam. We need to do a better job getting people in church & let God convict them in areas he wants changed.

Born this way or Chose this way. There is no one answer. Just tired of the a**l retentive American society tripping over themselves to proclaim, "Look! We're tolerant! You should be too! Let's celebrate this brave man's gayness!" I don't care if the guy next to me in the shower is *** or straight. I don't care if the guy next to me likes to wear women's underwear while scoring touchdowns. I have a problem when someone forcibly tries to make me like something I don't care about. I'm not talking about what I like to do in bed. There are sites, bars, groups for that. The front page of sports is not one of those places.

You'd care if that guy's name was Jerry Sandusky.

Anytime homosexuality is mentioned it's hard for it to not turn into that. Haha. But yeah. I'm also a little biased because I grew up in a primarily anti-*** community where people tried to shove Christianity down everyone's throats. **** like that will make you feel like everyone who is against it is ignorant.

Nature or nurture? I don't know. I'm not an expert. But, I do know that the first time I went googoo over a girl was in the 4th grade. I still remember her (1954 for those who care). I also didn't make a conscious decision to like girls. It was just there. I didn't think about it. It just was. I personally can't even envision a moment when you could make that decision. You are born one way or the other, as far as I can tell.
I agree with this. For some it may be a choice from events that have occurred in their life, but I think for most its not a choice. Is there a *** gene. Not that I know of, but that doesn't mean that their isn't an underlying psychological or other issue from a young age whether someone was born with it or developed it in their first few years of life (hence why people will say I was a homosexual since I can remember).
I personally think homosexuality goes against nature. And if something goes against nature then IMO there may be an underlying issue as to why that is the case. Don't know much about the science of it all, but I think everyone can agree its not a natural state of the human being.

It actually doesn't go against nature at all, per the very definition of nature and natural. It has been seen in over a thousand species, and is well-documented and known in hundreds of those. It occurs throughout nature, and thus is natural.

Did you choose to be straight?

I chose to be faithful to my wife. At times, it doesn't feel "natural" & can be tough but I've never cheated.

You avoided the question. Did you choose to be straight? Was your attraction to women a choice or could you have also chosen to like men? I know as a straight male I never made a choice. I just am attracted to women. It's the same for *** people.

I have never understood religious arguments against *** marriage.

I mean either the ever powerful god was not powerful enough to make man do what he wanted them to do or he choose to let man make his own decisions. And if it was the latter then why would he then want you to make man's decisions for them?

I mean is it godly to allow man to make his own decisions or not? If the answer is yes than I guess when you vote against *** marriage your saying that you don't trust in your God or your just not supposed to follow in god's image. Which is it?

Valid point. But just my personal opinion as I'm admittedly ignorant on the depths of how sexuality develops etc, but the duality of male and female in humans (I will keep it to humans) makes me believe while it may be common it doesn't make it natural IMO. If two men or two women have to find another body part just to perform the act of *** because one partner doesn't have the sexual organ necessary, well in my opinion that goes against nature.

I'm not opposed to *** marriage.. If they are of age & both consent, it's none of the governments business.
