Yep.

I love his intensity and educational background. But, he doesn’t seem like much of a recruiter. Lacks personality.

With that said, I don’t care. We’ve got plenty of recruiters on staff. We need a coach that can scheme, put players in a position to win, simplify assignments, adjust in real time, and develop players. If he does all of that, recruiting will be just fine.

Only coach I want to remain on that side of the ball is JT and that's only for recruiting. Not a single room on that side of the ball improved year over year on that side. If we're really serious about getting to championship form, the DC should be able to bring in whoever he wants.

Just my humble not so expert opinion but Popo was who I watched the most

His play got worse as the entire defense was collapsing (Wes as well he actually started the season very good)

I think the defense just got to the point where the wheels came off and trying to over-analyze and blame specific coaches and players is futile

People use the word regress way too much here as well it’s like a fetish

I think he was in some of the 2nd half of the year games but early on he was one of our best players on defense. Eventually he got grouped in with kiko and people called the whole group bad

If it was dnich decision to keep kiko in all year at that many snaps then he deserves blame but popo and wes were solid to me

Popo had some moments. Wes still did not do enough to really separate himself. Especially it being his third year. I'm excited with Pruitt, but LB's definitely need some better coaching.

Nah, one highlight play and then over running a play or missing a tackle. Among those who should really benefit from new DC.

I wonder if Mario knows he needs some stud recruiters in the defensive side of the ball. If anyone who has contact with Mario reads this board, please let him know.

Totally agree with that. I believe it had a lot to do with him foregoing the draft last year. In addition, trying to keep his brother happy. Kiko didn't do himself any favors coming back, but his shoulder getting injured played a huge role. He gained too much weight this past off season as well, which made him even slower.
