Mindset of the Fan Base

Where have we regressed at? Everyone saw the defensive issues in the usf game. The biggest concern among everyone offensively was the run game

Finishing sacks, inability to tackle in open space, can’t create turnovers, etc., have been issues since conference play. Nobody on defense is getting better. They all have gotten worse.
 
Honestly, the outcome of this game was better than I expected. I was expecting closer. Also felt good to win going away on a night when CW wasn't that great.

We have a running game. In ACC play, 2 200+ yard games, with the lowest output being 138. That'll work

It’s because people wanted to beat FSU 63-0. We had close calls against Cal and VT.

Personally this is the most excited I’ve been about Miami and even college football in general in a very long time. No team this year stands out as a true force. Everyone has had close calls. The national title is up for grabs. We just need to win out and get our playoff birth!

Now, our 2024 Hurricanes are not the 2001 Hurricanes. My point is lighting up the scoreboard week after week is really, really, really hard. There will be misfires. Elite teams have both sides of the ball that can bail out tbe squad when one has an off day.

That’s been a constant thing , that’s not regression in my opinion
 
You should see the gameday thread, the FSU one we were up 14-0 just starting the 2nd quarter and you would think we were the ones losing by 14.

I am convinced that we could win the National Championship this year and you will still see a thread the next day saying "...but would we have won without Ward?"
 
I think everyone is happy with 8-0 relative to the last 20 years and also uneasy if current goal is playoffs+ due to the holes in the roster.
It’s fine for both to be true

Every game thread is like that.

The inability to discuss the team and games from all sides on this board is ****ed up. No one will be unhappy with winning a natty.

Most people commenting on doing it without Ward are responding to posts about the foundation being built. This year’s team is pretty solid and incredible on offense, but many of the key players need to be replaced next year.

...And we're healthy. There are very few people moping around while 8-0 for whatever reason. These mopes need to find some gratitude for what these kids are doing. Lately, we've been on the wrong end of the rivalry, wrong end of the injury bug, wrong end on the rankings--national and recruiting.

I am a bit tired of this moping ****. We could be the ones 1-7 and bowl ineligible or have ourselves a Memphis Mike as corch--but we don't. Sack the **** up for *****' sake. Weak *** mental midgets. In fact, I think this thread should be deleted and never spoken of again. There should not be any Miami Tears threads on CiS. Go to warchant for that.

This fan base is ***** made.

Bunch of chicken littles, undercover semenholes and gaytors. So many waiting, praying, hoping, pleading for us to lose to be the first on the board to scream "I told you so" "(Insert player name here) sucks" "(insert coach name here) sucks"

This team is flawed but its record is perfect. I'm enjoying the one year we get out of Cam and this offense. Probably won't see anything like this for a long *** time.

Everyone is happy about being 8-0

A good portion of the fanbase has a “We (the realists) tried to tell you…” post queued up for when we eventually lose a game as well

Last nights game didn’t tell us anything about our chances in the playoffs but I think this is the first time we have ever beaten USF, UiF, and FSU in the same season?

We invested a lot and we know how FSU feels on that other sideline and it’s just good to not be them

Time to give Manny Diaz a loss now

I'm sorry but if you aren't glad with the overall product, you're exactly what OP is talking about.

The "overall product" is 8-0, easy wins vs FSU and UF, and a QB in the Heisman race. If that is "**** no" disappointing, you're just admitting you'll always be miserable.

This team has flaws, people are right to point those out. But somehow a group of CIS posters has taken the mindset that anything less than a 50 pt win in every game and a national title is a disappointment. That was never realistic and even the teams those posters hype as "elite" aren't anywhere close to that.

After how mediocre we've been, it's just strange that people aren't enjoying this season more. Nobody who is a Cane fan should be taking it, and especially having Cam Ward, for granted.
