durability issues after he burst on the scene.......

James is one of the best blocking backs in the draft, FWIW. I think his play at the Senior Bowl practices where he was a beast in one-on-one blocking drills has started a great off-season of momentum for him to be a drafted player.

Players like Mike James tend to go in Rounds 5-7...occasionally one jumps up though if a team falls in love.

Perfect third back in a rotation in the NFL, is James, IMO.

Exactly, a lot of folks forget his soph season. If he was healthy in 2011, Ark. offense would have been unreal. They would have gave LSU and Bama serious fits. I would throw away his production from last year, after Bobby Petrino fiasco.

I'd draft Mike James if his legs fell off between now and the draft. I'd carry the dude around in a napsack just for the positive mojo he exudes.

In all seriousness, the long-time Canes will remember a dude named Warren Williams, who didn't have great stats at UM but got drafted by the Steelers and hung around the league for a long time. I'd love to see the same happen for Mike.

Franchise, I'd be expecting a DM from Oscar Pistorius any time now.

I would love to hear the endorsement Golden gives James to the NFL player personnel folks. It's going to be off the charts and it deserves to be. The kid did everything right and more during his stint at the U.

With a locker room full of lazy dbags around him when Golden first got here, Mike really turned out to be a special kid! And as incredible as Duke is on and off the field, he's been very lucky to have Mike with him for his first year to show him how to be a Cane!

He was always a beast in the weight room. Hopefully he gets drafted, he deserves it. With that 40 I am guessing he will.

Edit: I didnt see it was 4.50 flat. Wow, where did that come from? Awesome, awesome time for him.

I really wish he had another season of eligibility left. Kid has such a great attitude and work ethic.

MADE HIMSELF SOME MONEY!

I genuinely got up from my couch and clapped excitedly when that was posted. **** yeah, man. That's a good guy who's the antithesis of the guys who came out the year before. I can only hope he's rewarded by making some money in the draft.

I think that time helps him. He's going to intrigue someone because he's so versatile and will contribute to a franchise as a whole.

This ... Compare him to the underclassmen that left the year before and see where they are in 5 years. MJ playing in the NFL and the others are going to be asking people if they want fries with that.

Lol at Duval busting out "Alfred Morris went in 4th-6th rd no way Mike is picked there" like anyone knew what Alfred Morris was capable of. Name another 4th-6th rd running back in last years draft besides Morris and Miller. Exactly.

I'm going to miss him carrying piles and breaking tackles for those extra yards. Excellent news for Mike! True Cane through and through.

Mike James would make for a good Green Bay Packer. He fits the mold of what they like over there.
