Michael Johnson Jr to Penn State

We knew now for a while. He made the best decision FOR HIM. We are very proud of him for being his own man and making the tough decisions. I’m not sure how much more Jon richt could have done. Mike Senior has a very close relationship with their QB coach and head coach as well (their names slip my mind right now). I agree with most on here that the canes should have targeted other prospects; reason being Mikes personality was never going to fit down here with the south Florida athlete. As Brooklyn put it, (country hood, lol)

More and more im ok with passing on a qb this cycle, unless we get someone elite. Im not down for taking a qb just to take a qb.
 
Wasted a lot of time and racked up a lot of frequent flyer miles for this kid.

We really need to stop wasting our time recruiting kids from across the country.

Big-time fail.

Putting all your eggs in one single basket to show a guy he's the only one.....then be left at the alter.

Even for those who think we don't need a QB this cycle, or those who don't think he's a legit QB with his throwing talent, it's still an eyesore bc everyone saw how much time and effort was put into this guy and how confident they were he would be a Cane.
 
Not a huge loss. Overall, a down year for QB's.

My biggest question on this kid is why did Oregon pass on him? I mean his dad is on the stafff.

Yea cause we didnt just pull the best offense recruiting class last cycle. Jesus whats wrong with you people comparing missing MJJ to the talent we losing out on defense, specifically DB.

@Dyalect79 Thanks for posting and keeping us informed in the early going, you keep rooting for our Canes! One cannot control family members, heck my oldest daughter legacy to UM and accepted to the U and decided to go to Boston U. It happens. Best to your nephew but Better to the U! Go Canes!

Don’t know I can root for a guy named Dinkleman lol. In all seriousness, I don’t think we can pull a JUCO commit because we got young guys waiting and JUCO players are in “play now” mode more times than not.
 
I hope we don't pass on a QB and keep looking. There are always late bloomers and SLFA has been producing great QBs lately.

I love the energy CMR brings but he seems set in his way. He locks in on 1 guy and its him or bust. Next year its max Johnson (who looks like the polar opposite to MJJ). Not knocking any player just not feeling this approach at all!

Not going to happen doesn't fit the agenda.

I don't think it's a big deal & we can always find a another QB.

But you can guarantee anytime we miss on an equally rated defensive player their will be dozens of threads blasting Diaz & Banda.
 
With two redshirt freshmen and a true freshman, we have the luxury of being selective in 2019. Still need to take a kid this cycle if available. Williams was a late add and a **** good one. If not then I guess we will have to wait on Max Johnson in 2020. Oh darn.

Not nearly as much.

There's literally a 10 page thread ****tin on Defensive staff that just started yesterday. After Jordan Battle committed to Oh St another multi page thread was started saying Ed Red should be hired.

His nephew is in the mold of David Greene or Matthew Stafford or Aaron Murray and looks to be better schooled mechanically. Johnson should have a big junior year. He has matured at least physically.

We have no backup plan for the most important position on the field doesn’t matter how many skill guys you get if you can’t get them the ball.
 
Wouldn’t mind seeing us take a shot on one of these freak athletes that play QB in South Florida.

Now would be the year to do it with the other young guys in the fold.
