Michael Barrow leaving team

I'm sorry that Michael is leaving the program, he's been a loyal Cane. Last year Florida made a run at him and it's possible someone else like OS U will approach him for recruiting in South Florida. As a linebacker coach Randy Shannon removed him so that says something whether deserved or not.

Credit to @CanesInSight which first broke news of mike barrow being out at #UM. Crazy timing for staff shake-up w training camp abt to start

Bang

The timing of this says nothing but baaaaaaaad things to me.

Not the worst timing. During playing or recruiting season would be worse.

Barrow's deeply religious....look what's gone on with our team last month or so. I'm sure he takes that stuff to heart.

probably the most accurate thing said in this thread. kudos.

Those two were his players. maybe Mike blames himself somehow. We love you Mike. May The Lord Bless you in all you do.

I believe that Mike is exactly the type of guy who would leave to take care of his mother. The old Canes are not cut from the same cloth as others. They were and remain different. So I see no reason to not believe it. Golden could not possibly fire Mike at the point and still keep Mark. Firing someone this close to season cripples his chance to find other job; for all Golden's flaws, that is not something he would do. Dude does have class and compassion. It is rare but maybe what is said is actually the truth.

Timing would indicate the family thing could be accurate. Won't speculate if that is not accurate.

Good luck Mike. Thank you for your services. True family man. Home and football. Any of you questioning it should go castrate yourself.

I'd rather they not hide another recruiter at a meaningful spot since we already have Carroll and Coley around. They need an actual coach whether he's a great recruiter or not. LB play has been subpar for some time.

I have no idea if it's even feasible, but Shannon makes sense to me as somebody they'd look into.

Best of luck and health to Mike and his family. Hope to see him back in some capacity someday.
