Miami opens +1 @ Louisville

This is the best team we play the remainder of the season. If we lose, we’re done as it pertains to the playoffs we will drop like an anchor. Everyone is pretty much waiting for it to happen after the last two games.

The winner of the ACC gets an automatic playoff bid.

Also, an 11-1 Miami even if we get left out of the ACCCG will have a strong argument.

Bottom line…it’s October 17th, there is a ton of ball to play, the season isn’t remotely over no matter what happens Saturday.

I fully expect defense to show up in a big way come Saturday. Bain has now been back in it for 3 weeks, should be close to conditioned. Expect more snaps… I also think people (media) are downplaying the return of Rivers at LT. He’s an NFL pick and a key piece to this team.

were paying a Miami perception tax based on our last two games and it’s not all that unfair. Easy to pick against us and then say they were right. Our recent history is on their side. Luckily for us is that really doesn’t matter unless we let it.
I get it and it’s 100 percent fair. Our D has looked atrocious against multiple meh offenses. Blowing coverages and losing leverage like a Pop Warner team. Anyone that’s poo poo’ing that is delusional or just not smart. That said I think we see one of our better performances of the year as a team. The O and D get on the same page. Imo we a lot more pressure from the front and cause more chaos than previous weeks. Louisville will still score but the D looks better. The offense will be their normal selves and I’d expect the run to be better with Rivers returning. Maybe some adjustments to fit Martinez into the run game better. My only concern is this is UL’s season and they’ll be up big for this .

If I’m off here feel free to bump lol.

What would you consider as a better performance?

In my opinion, I think that could be giving up 24 points. Of course that is related to our prior performance on defense.

this is the absolute perfect time to come out on ABC in early afternoon game in our Stormtroopers against a respectable team and dominate after two questionable wins - we had a ton of hype after UF, this game can do the same

we win by 2+ scores Saturday and all that BS about refs in VT and Cal will be gone

I keep seeing references in this thread to this game being Louisville’s Super Bowl.

Well why the fück shouldn’t it be our Super Bowl? Because we might be looking ahead to an awful FSU team the following week? No, we should be locked in after a bye and come out like it’s a playoff game. Another flat start like against Cal is completely unacceptable.

Miami has failed to cover the week prior to Florida State each of the last three years. The Canes were favored in each game, losing to NC State last year and winning by 2 and 3 against Virginia and Georgia Tech the previous two seasons...

If we’re actually a playoff team we show up and win the game by 14+ and come home and demolish the Noles

If we’re going to make it to Charlotte and lose to an average Clemson team we’ll go up to louisville and play them close and win by 1-4 points and come home and let the Noles hang around.

If we’re going to miss out on Charlotte all together we go up there and get beat.

This game clarifies how the 2nd half of the season plays out, in my opinion.
I bet the alternate line -9.5 with this line of thinking. Either handle business easily or probably lose.

Side note: the Va Tech win is looking a little nicer as they blow out BC tonight.

That plus our crappy recent history coming off bye weeks has me just betting the over 59.5

We can lose exactly 1 game. Either we run the table and can lose to clempson and still (probably) get in or we lose during the season and have to win the acc.

Personally I prefer undefeated regular season so we can afford a loss in the acccg. But this team likes to live dangerously so maybe they’ve got other ideas.

Unfortunately, though if we lose a regular season game, we likely won't make the ACCCG, so that needs to be avoided
