Agreed. And that's definitely a good thing. We saw last night how this team looked going into a game thinking they were the **** and so much better than their opponent. Gotta stay hungry.

If we fix some of the issues that have been plaguing us for the past few weeks we will be fine. Gotta get Duke healthy and teach him how to block without using his head. It's also imperative we clean up Morris's bull****.

I'd like to see us work the middle more as well. I don't know if it's the play calls or Morris not going through his projections, but we never seem to test the middle of the field even when it's open.

Whatever issues Morris has aren't likely to get fixed in the second half of his senior year. He is what he is. Maybe Coley has a plan to limit what the guy has to do. I don't know how to fix him.

yeah but it's not like he throws 4 picks every game, so he just had a bad day by his standards. That said, he's not the kind of QB that can win the game by himself, he needs to step back and be more of a game manager because the dude was trying to force way too much out there.

He was, and espn focused on it 2-3 times. It's not his shin either, it's his ankle and don't think that's not a big deal. If his ankle isn't 100%, he can't plant properly when he throws. He can't escape the pass rush as well and he's not going to scramble. He's not as productive if he's not 100%

He has to grit his teeth and bear it, that's what I'm saying. Not everyone can be an elite college QB or even NFL QB.... but Morris could be..... however the demands of that job are that you HAVE TO play effectively even when you're hurt.

Having a bruised ankle or whatever sucks, but frankly..... he needs to transfer that weight on to it anyway. if he wants to be great, that is. If he wants to be average, by all means keep babying that ankle.

He needs to plant that foot anyway. He needs to run around on it anyway. Bruised or not.

He's not going to do any damage to it by putting weight on it, the doctors confirmed that. it's a bruise. It's all a question of pain tolerance and toughness. Your QB gets paid more than anybody else in football to be a leader and being able to absorb huge hits, peel yourself off the grass, and keep playing at a high level are skills an elite QB NEEDS to have.

I'm not sure the ankle was really that much of a problem. That deep ball he threw in the second half where he got his weight transfer correctly was executed effortlessly. There were times he just simply bailed out of the pocket when he didn't have to do so. There were other times he lost his mechanics. Stephen Morris is as streaky quarterback as Miami has had as a starter. He goes hot and cold quickly. When he's on he is really on. When he is off he is really off.
