Didn't UM make Ice Harris jump through some sort of needless hoops before they'd allow him to be hired? I don't remember the exact specifics but I do recall they were pointless considering the experience he had coaching and that it didn't take a rocket scientist to be able to do what it was the (then) staph wanted him to do. "We can't risk letting you run a three day football camp until you complete your master's in biomolecular engineering."

Maybe that's what the hold up is in this case? Because I'm guessing UM is going to pay him slightly more than he is making currently as Southridge's OC, and since their season has been over for awhile there really isn't any reason to drag your feet on taking a better and better paying job.

Ice Harris had to get his bachelor's degree to be allowed to coach.

That would not be a power move and help with recruiting as Pete has stated before with this new hire.

Pete did say in OP it was an addition to recruiting staff.
Doesn't sound like an addition to the on-field coaching staff.
But I could be wrong.

Pete already completely gave it away. Power Move Guy is very clearly Cooney. Why it takes so long to hire a HS coach for $60k or less especially when he could be an active help THIS CYCLE if he he's really a PMG is beyond me.
