Confirmed Miami (hires) Minnesota Corey Hetherman as DC

He has a familiar work ethic and pedigree from Schiano, objectively succeeds everywhere he goes and his product passes the eye test on the field. We're likely his last stop before head coach and being courted by Minnesota or Rutgers when Fleck or Schiano move on.
He worked 2 years under schiano. He had no ties before that

Board needs to chill out on asking menmon for his opinion on everything. I’m tired of seeing it. What’s next you’ll ask him what to wear tomorrow? He could tell the board aliens are coming on earth tomorrow and you’ll believe it. Form your own opinions
That's not entirely true.

They only ask my opinion on things like this to reaffirm what they already feel.

If I don't like a hire or a player, they have zero interests in what I say or think.

Trust me, as soon I say something they don't like or agree with, no matter how true it is, they'll grab the closest brick they can find to throw it through my window.

Give yourself a little more credit.

What you say is true and applies to MANY on this board. But, there are others (myself included) who value your FOOTBALL opinion, especially when it’s not filled with sunshine and rainbows. It’s how we become more educated because most of us never played the game.

Keep doing you!

Monroe isnt his guy either. Another example. Hetherman didn’t hire a single asst at Minnesota but had a top 10 defense
Which is another reason head coaches don't let coordinators hire their own staff because if they did Minnesota would be looking to replace their entire defensive staff right now and not just their DC.

We're objectively getting a good DC and people are arguing about people who haven't been employed here for years and preemptively planning on blame for next year.

Angry Office Space GIF

Heck even those of us who played and coached value the insight and knowledge. I don’t necessarily agree with everything @Memnon says (he’s a Bull and I’m a Rocket so there has to be some level of hate and animosity 🫣) but I definitely value what he (and a few others) says.

Minnesota’s defensive staff was comprised of 4 on the field coaches last year.
Heatherman: DC/ LB
Monroe: Co-DC/ CB
Collins: PGC/ S
DeLattiboudere: DL

For reference we had 5 last year: Guidry, Jackson, Nicholson, Taylor, Salavea. Is there a chance that under Heathermen we shrink the on the field staff to four, and add an on the field full time Special Teams coach?
I hope so. Because let’s be honest… we don’t need 2 DL coaches

These people who throw bricks through your window, can they play QB?
