McGee in D'ono's doghouse

Mcghee will be the starter come game day. He is our best DB. This is more motivation tactics than anything

What have you ever seen from McGee that would ever make you think that he's our best DB?

He is our best DB. People can hope and wish Tracy Howard or insert any other freshman name if they like, but it will not change the fact that by far and it is not even close that Mcgee is our best DB. The coaches are just pushing him to be the lock down corner UM desperately needs. There are very few "Elite Corners" in which a DC can dial up an aggressive coverage/blitz package where they can leave their Field side corner in man to man with no help. Having the luxury of players like Patrick Peterson, Phillip Buchanan or Tyrann D. Mathieu (Honey Badger) who can hold it down allows for the DC to call aggressive plays periodically to stop game changing drives. Last year Mcgee was 0-7 on the plays when Coach D dialed his number.

Mcgee has all the tools to be that player and the coaches are pushing him hard to be an "Elite Corner". If he never becomes and "Elite Corner", which are few and far between, it does not mean he is terrible or sucks. Mcgee would still be a really good college DB.

You could've just said by default and saved the keystrokes.

LoL I was thinking the same thing

^^^ or both of you guys could've not said anything..Instead of discussing the man's post. you said he could've saved the strokes. smh

Pcity I disagree 1000% with you!! Chambers was atrocious and I watched three games he played in. he was more lost than sam shields ...

McGee had a average year period. I know you cannot let your biased opinion self see that, but statistically go to cfbstats.com He did.

Now I tend to agree with cityboy. I'm not sending a freshman with a black jersey to BC to start on Labor Day...LOL are you kidding me.

Ya I'd rather throw out an immature, lazy senior that has been awful his entire career also

If your a senior and you need tactics, when you should be the leader of this secondary, and leading by example. I dont want you on the field, give me that hungry freshman that wants to play.

I don't agree with this in slightest. Kid is getting past up by a JUCO kid and a true freshman. I will be very surprised if he is starting at all this season.

The fact that you can even make a case for McGee being our best corner shows just how screwed we were at the position.

I mean really? McGee, D. Johnson, and Gunter are our upperclassmen at the position? McGee is our best corner on paper.....whoopty****indo

Coach D saying that about McGee is not a motivational tactic. It's down right embarrassing and he is smacking his *** down for being a lazy a%^ senior that is getting out worked by freshmen. If you ask me that statement by d'no is more harsh criticism than anything else. Sounds more like he's tired of his BS than trying to light a fire under his a%#. And if losing your starting spot to a true freshman doesn't motivate you, then your lazy, entitled a%# needs to ride the bench.

Yup. We all discussed the motivation tactics back in the spring that appeared to get McGee headed in the right direction. Now it's just pathetic, for lack of a better term.

Okay, I have a had time not laughing when I read that. Can you please give me your 4 deep @ CB per your logic?

I would not say by default. All players don't need coaching. Some just have "it" and only need instructions. Tracy Howard would be an example of a player that does not need coaching. Just give him instructions and he is good to go. For players that only need instructions, simply show them one or two times and they have it. While some players you have to "coach" and earn your paycheck. Some of the best football players on the planet had to be "coached". From experience, these player will make you pull your hair out at times because you spend so much time with them trying to polish their game just for them to do the opposite of what you are teaching. Remember a coach will never be hard on a player if they did not have talent or waist much time with them. I am glad that our coaches see the tools Mcgee has and are putting in the effort to make him "Elite". They probably have lost a lot of hair over Mcghee..lol But I think he will do well this year.

why the heck then did Al Golden send him to the ACC Media day?
Seem like AL and Staff are desperately trying to force McGee to assume some sort of SR leadership role that he's just not cut out to assume.
I say stop wasting your efforts and call a spade a spade. If he can help the team thane great, if not move on.

Right now being UM's best corner is being the best Asian driver

it's not saying much

( And yes, I'm Korean, trust me, I know)

Mcgee said he had a Virus in an interview?? Explaining why he lost the black shirt and poor play. I also dont think AL and Coach D have time to play games for motivation...you want your best getting as many reps as possible.

This is starting to remind me of yesterdays post about ray ray lol.

McGee sucks and has sucked since he's been here. It's not motovation. Read coach D's comment. He's practically saying I'm giving up on McGee. If your boss tells you that you need to be consistent at work and that he can't be micro managing you to get your work done. That's not motivational tactics that's I'm fed up and am on the verge of firing your a#%.
