McFarland sets announcement date.

Weird because an hour before he was retweeting and answering that he was going to announce on bleacher report. So something is up.

Kid was a silent to Miami. Been obvious for awhile, in such that we've only been recruiting him and Burns. Maryland dropped some Under Armour bags off, made him a sweetheart offer. Of course, they are cloaking said sweetheart deal with the whole 'stay home and rep your city' bit. He's either seriously considering it, or accepted it already, in which case he's delaying his announcement till signing day, as to not have to face Brown and Richt and admit to going back on his pledge.


I mean, seriously, have we not been following recruiting for years? DO we not know how this **** works, more often than not?

Tariq Castro is a 4 star CB out of Maryland, who pushed his decision back to signing day right after his in home with the Maryland Coaches. Penn State was the heavy favorite for Castro. The wording in the tweets from both Castro and MacFarland are almost identical too.

Kid probably told Maryland he was a cane lock, and the coaches proceeded with the stay at home guilt trip and asked him to as least think about it a little longer.

I'm assuming we tried the same pitch with Jeudy, so I'm not hating. But unlike Maryland, we can do much for McFarland in terms of national exposure and hype. Same with Jeudy had he come here..

I'm sure after brown gets there tomorrow, he would have gotten over his feelings and still announce some time in the evening.

One way to get MD off your back is to announce you're a cane ASAP and shut down your recruitment.
 
This kid is elite if healthy he wudda tore up his senior year and saban wudda got erbody on this dude

I have a feeling canes coaches either knew this was going to happen or anticipated a push back. Why else would you visit the kid after he was scheduled to announce his commitment? Anyone know is the kid ever took an official visit to Miami?

McFarland took his official visit to Miami on October 15, 2016.

Wow, this kid is on the cusp of making one of the most epic mistakes of his life. Choosing Maryland over Miami is dreadful if you have any true hopes of going to the NFL as an RB. History speaks for itself.
 
This is a crap development simply put. My confidence in his landing just vanished. Call me all the names and negative if you want but this looks as sketchy as **** considering all the particulars surrounding him

Thanks. You never know with 18 year old kids. I love Miami and was raised in South Carolina. I know I would be torn between putting on for my hometown USC Gamecocks and the hurricanes if I was a recruit. There has to be tons of pressure from the locals to stay home. With that said I'm competitive and would want to play for a legit coach and compete for national championships so even though I was torn know Miami would be MY ultimate choice. Let's hope Anthony Mac only factors himself into this decsion bc when he starts thinking about others the needle is going to tip in marylands favor.
 
With all the other kids that are coming supposedly holding off and announcing for us on NSD, is it possible the staff told him to just hold off and anounce on NSD to make a bigger splash ? Just a thought...its only a week away
