Elder is fast, but it isn't like he closed a gap to snatch Cook from behind. He had an angle. Cook was running past him.

He ran from the other side of the field and still caught dalvin. Who have you seen do that when dalvin is running in the open field

Man pls, Elder was already at the left hashes when Cook sprung out the pack. Don't try to make **** up.

He still started the play on the other side of the field. He chased him down from the left hash but regardless he caught him

That was impressive. Not many guys are going to catch Cook in that situation.

He ran down a cephalopoid on foot. That's double-tough.

Elder catching Cook was impressive, no question. That's rarely going to see happen.

But I agree with Oblivion. When Elder was at the left hash, he had about 4 yards on Cook already. Plus Cook had to get through the wash and regain his balance whereas Elder was running free the whole play.

Corn Elder running down Davlin Cook
I seen the video and watched the game. it shows the samething. Elder was already on the left hash 10 yards up the field when Cook came out the pack of defenders. Cook hit the go fast gear and was running past a man that had angle and a sideline in his favor. Elder is a fast DB, but he isn't faster than Cook nor did he come from the opposite side of the field once Cook emerge from breaking tackles, he was already there.

How 'bout "both those guys are fast, so let's keep talking about McFarland's announcement"?

Personally, I don't think McFarland is as fast as Duke, but I think it's so close that in a game it won't matter. Both are game-changing elite players.

I'm not sure if you remember geometry and the distance formula but you do realize that Elder had to cover more ground then Cook right to get to that same point? WTF you smokin bro?

blackvern

they are equal at about the 43 yard line, yet due to the angle, elder still has to run a further distance in order to catch cook ...which he does.

Which Duke ?

* Prior to Golden and staff getting him to heavy he had great speed
* After he put on to much weight looked a lot slower imo
