Macfarland has dalvin cook burst and speed aint no joke

lol, just outta curiosity who in the nfl has dalvin cook speed and burst, not saying he's the fastest NFL guy but just curious when being compared to HS guys

Jamaal charles.

I think that's close, but I still think Cook is on another level. Other than maybe Deion and Hester, I've never seen someone reach their top speed as fast as cook does. All he needs is a step or two before he's at his top speed.

With that being said I hope he has a horrible
NFL career.

Charles is a 4.3 guy and a track dude. Cook aint no 4.3. Cook looked a little slower this year with that extra weight.

Duke ran a 4.33 AFTER injury and weight gain. He was clocked at 4.39 his freshman year.

He ran a 4.5 and 4.51 pro day and a 4.54 at the combine. 4.3 my ***.

I will take that number. Besides the fact he routinely got run down by DBs.

40 time is about acceleration, getting run down is about top end speed. You can have a relatively slow 40 time but be uncatchable once you get up to speed, and vice versa. Duke's sole flaw (IMO) is that every team had a DB or 2 that could catch him on long runs.

No need to defend Duke to me. He's one of my favorite Canes of all time. I'm just saying he isn't a 4.3 back.

Like I mentioned in another post, Mac looks like a beast, but Duke was almost mythical in high school. Comparisons are fine but we gotta be careful sometimes. Duke had some rare qualities.

Just my sense of nostalgia getting the best of me. Hope we get this kid and he turns out to be as good as people think. Yearby/Walton have been good, but I miss the excitement Duke brought to the game.
