naw the fact that the Gus was out Best RB was also sad.... Now i do want him? Of course but No matter what you say out of state Running Backs is not how Miami was built... somebody name me the last out of state RB who balled here

Craig Cooper is the only name I could come up with that was half ways decent. From Memphis, TN. Ran for 2,218 yards in 3 years, best year was 841 yards and 4 TDs. You're right he didn't ball out. Average at best.

Thats all Im sayin mane... We going to be back when the local 5 stars stay home... but im all in on Mcfarland...He should be the #2 RB next year. I like him more then Burns and Homer

What local 5 star did you want us to get instead?

Not so much this year.... but I see your point

This been my point dude. This is what I been talking about the negativity. We in a new day. Enjoy the crootin battles and TRUST Richt and Brown on the RBs they choose. Gurley and Marshall and Chubb have all been animals.

Gus was ***. And rb isnt strong instate this year. How many rbs in florida is better than mcfarland? Your squad fsu went to mississippi and va to get rbs.

WE aint FSU FSU always goes out of state to get players

FSU won the national championship 3 years ago with a QB from Alabama. Seems like a good formula to me.

Not how the U was built? We won a national championship with a QB from California. Ed Reed was from Louisiana, DJ Williams from Cali, Jim Kelly, Testaverde, etc. etc. The whole notion that Miami will only be great again with exclusively local players enrages me and proves that you have zero idea what you're talking about.

OSU went to PA for Zeke Elliott and how'd that turn out for them? How about Deshaun Watson at Clemson? Jalen Hurts is from Texas. Successful college teams recruit the best players regardless of where they're from.
Zeke from right outside of St. Louis Missouri, Curtis samuel is either from pa or New York but good point

Homer was a local 4-star RB who stayed home, what exactly don't you like about him?

Homer is solid but i dont see the hype with him. Watching his film in high school he looked like a solid rb that runs well behind his pads and is patient but i dont think he is a #1 back.

Stephen McGuire was from New York, but I don't know why I'm bothering to answer. It doesn't matter if a guy is good, he's ****ing good.

I guess he wouldn't take Leonard Fournette or Barry Sanders either. Bad troll work.

You had to be that guy....you forgot Bo Jackson and Adrian Peterson and LOL at the Stephen Mcguire reference.. I respect dude but he isnt a top 10 RB in Cane history....I'm not saying there arent amazing players in other states..I am simply pointing out that dam near every single time weve been dominant weve had Florida boys in our backfield... I would like to not try and reinvent the wheel... I understand RB crop is not that good this year but we have to eventually hit when those boys come out in 2018

Naw for real man ..this year the last 5 games Walton showed me he was the best running back,, but last year I had Gus in front of everybody..How sad is that mane? I honestly felt that Gus was not our toughest but our most talented RB.. That should never be the case, but IMO it was

I see what you're saying... I think you may be underestimating him though...

Yet before he broke his foot he was in line to be our starting RB...and he also beat out Yearby for the #2 RB.... so even if he does sucks your still proving my point

Who said he was going to start? And when did he beat out yearby for the number 2 spot?

I never said McGuire was top 10, but he was **** good, especially on teams that ran that offense that barely ran the ball and when it did, barely helped the RBs. He ran for 1953 yards and 35 TDs and that was basically in 3 years. If you take out 1992 after he blew out his knee at the end of 1991 and wasn't the same, he ran for 1748 yards on 379 carries, 4.6 yards per carry and 30 TDs in 31 games. He ran for 176 yards against #2 FSU in 1990 and ran for 142 yards against #1 FSU in 1991. He would have had much better numbers if he played in the same offense as the later guys. I'm not saying he was as good as them, he was not, but he was very good.
