Max Johnson On Campus

Brian Griese won a National Championship. I'd be good with that, lol.

Chris Simms I remember as a turnover prone choker in big games in college.
Ummmm ok. See me if i had to go that route id say charles woodson won that championship otherwise that logic also wouldsay trent dilfer won a super bowl. In both instances clearly they both were the starting qb. But they each had as much to do with winning that championship as the kid in the equipment room who hand washed the entire teams jock straps...

Brian Griese was the starting QB and Rose Bowl MVP.

The main thing for me is that he's a lefty.

I know, sounds stupid right... But, there's really only been a handful of great left handed QB's. And before you throw Steve Young, Boomer Esiason, Mark Brunell & Vick at me, realize you're proving my point. Literally only a handful of them over a 20+ year time span. Great Left handed QB's are rare.

Now for the fundamentalists defenders, keep calm & read clearly. No one is criticizing Richt or the staff, no one is saying the kid sucks, no one is saying that we know better than Richt. People have questions & are not anti-Miami or complaining for simply raising those questions.

The kid still has 2 years to continue to develop & become much better than he already is. He comes from NFL stock & obviously will have a head start on understanding Offenses. All the tools are there & it'll be interesting to see how he progresses by the end of his Senior year.
They’re not good in the pros but college is different. Don’t forget that a couple of the greatest CFB QB’s were left handed. Btw no mention of Ken Stabler?

The point is, how often do they come along? The list of lefty QB's that had success is small, even in college great Left handed QB's are rare. **** even great right handed QB's are rare, but the odds are less likely for a left handed QB.
Tim Tebow, Pat White and Matt Leinart. If that's not good enough for you, oh well.

Let's see how he does as a Junior. As has been pointed out, between Sophmore and Jr years is when a lot of HS kids take a huge leap.

To echo what someone posted earlier, left handed PEOPLE only make up 10% of the population, so it just makes sense that there are going to be many more right handed QB's that were good. I mean sure it's rare to have a good left handed QB because it's rare to even have a lefthanded QB. Wouldn't it make more sense if you gave a list of the number of poor left handed QB's in comparison to good left handed QB's as opposed to simply saying there haven't been that many good ones? For all we know the ratio of good to bad may be higher for left handed QB's.

maybe because true left handers overall are rare. In baseball moxt left handers are only taught to be left handers and are not naturally that way. The actual lefty population is much smaller than u think.

Needs tremendous improvement in accuracy. Wasn’t he a 40% passer last year against urine competition? I’m one o

You were the leader of the “numbers” on Sitkowski. You prolly aren’t wrong here either. Be wise and listen to this man...

You literally named 3 out of how many? Don’t count on the exception, better to follow the rule...I’ll take Aaron judge types over altuve all day.

The guy that makes me really go wow is Carlos Del Rio. Max can seem a little plodding in setup and release, not this kid.

U offers GA QB for 2021

Only freshman highlights and raw. But like I said in another thread, if he keeps improving, he’s going to be one of the most sought after QBs in the nation.

Extremely talented and all the potential in the world. Really pops in his freshmens highlights. If he develops, WOW!

Already was at the top, or at least in the top 3, of the weekend’s 7 on 7..... as a freshman.

You’re making too much sense sir. You must be new here.

The downsides to having a left handed QB is that the WRs have to get used to the ball spining the opposite direction. Plus you need a great pass blocking right tackle to protect their blindside.
The upside is that normally the defenses best pass rusher plays on the left side. The lefty can see them coming.

I made my cousin start batting left handed when he was 8 because of that but he throws right handed.

Having caught passes from a lefty, that’s not even a consideration. Takes like about one throw to get used to it. I don’t know why people say that. Makes no difference whether the spiral is spinning clockwise or counterclockwise.
