Mathis decommits

Please name me another school who has more decommits than us. I can’t wait to hear the spin you give.
well he was a drop so...
its like quitting when the a company closes or before a so says babe we need to talk
but u r right we do have a decommit problem i just wouldn't categorize this with the rest nor riggins

Some of the best college LBs of the last 15 years were slow. Brandon Spikes, Vontaze Burfict, Josh Bynes, Anthony Schlegel, EJ Henderson, etc.

Lack of speed is a problem in the absence of other redeeming traits. Mathis is a good example of that. Flagg has quick feet, can change directions, he's instinctive and he's a sound tackler. As long as he continues to diagnose plays and take good angles his speed won't be an issue. He has range in coverage and he has no problem making plays inside the tackle box.

Shaq is slower than Flagg on film, takes poor angles, gambles and lacks range in coverage. Speed is only part of the problem with him.
None of them dudes you named played in todays game with all these spread offenses

Finally some good news, didn’t think this staff had to balls to drop Mathis.

DBC disagrees with you ....

Do you guys think should allow kids like this to committ so early??? That can probably help out with the drops/de commits.

What helps with the drops is stop taking guys who are clearly not good enough. What helps the decommits is winning. 2018 class only had 5. And blades was one of them but came back. And 2 more were drops.

I have yet to hear he was dropped by anyone credible.

Basically I think we get 1 of Hypolite, Flowe, Greene...With an slim, slim, outside chance of 2 (based on 2 of those being tough pulls to begin with, and the other we'll...I'm not sure how long Hypolite wants to wait around) . I didn't mind Mathis, like his instincts, and I don't know if I think Hypolite is the sure thing some posters do but I do give Hypo the nod, the speed and pursuit edge is clear imo.

Maybe a Corbin Gibson is in the picture too

Nope. Borderline kid that we could circle back on later if we needed to. Not even a local kid that you don’t want to **** off by not taking an early commitment. Not even a traditional power school that produces lots of players that we sign or feeds to us. No reason to take him early.

Haven’t read the full thread yet but maybe we aren’t getting anyone. Maybe, after FIU, we’re just losing players?
