Mark Richards game 1 highlights

If he doesn’t this next week against Jahfari Harvey and Vero Beach I will be pretty impressed. The comp in this game was bad but Richards is a beast and a need regardless.

I say just make hin a Cane and then prove yourself at every practice. I can't see them not using him on defense, offense and special teams when he gets here so just keep this up and i feel the coaches will use him everywhere

If the kid wants to play RB then bring him in as RB.....when he is barely playing the next year or 2 and then wants to switch then switch him

Trust me, they are starting him off at safety, but if he is not grasping or showing his full potential they will move him to RB or WR. They are not just going to leave him to be a bust or mediocre player
Exactly what I think, don’t get the obsession about what position he plays. Kid is an ATH if I remember the staff recruited DJ as a db and look where he ended up. Just let the thing play out.

get this guy period!!!

If it means we tell McIntosh to go to OU so we take MAR as a RB then so be it. McIntosh is a fantastic prospect, don't get me wrong, but MAR is a game changing type talent where as I don't necessarily think McIntosh is.
I don't think we will have to tell McIntosh to go to OU. That ship has sailed. His balance and vision is amazing, but it's hard to tell the whole story when he can just double back and outrun the entire team of 8th graders. I say get him in as an athlete, present all position options with NFL projections and let him sort it out with all the info.

In saying things like this people keep forgetting one big detail. Sean Taylor wanted to play defense and DJ didnt have a preference. MAR on the other hand has openly stated he prefers offense.

Just get him on campus and then figure it out. I doubt Richt messes this up, but it would be nice if some of these kids went ahead and committed. Does anyone know if he is an EE or signing in the December signing period?

Its a pretty easy discussion if you show NFL RB pay/longevity vs CB/S pay/longevity.

RB is a terrible position to play in the NFL.
That's what i think he gets and the Peppers comparison makes sense. MAR is more explosive and electric with the ball in his hands and you know Ahmon is in his head too that he can trust this staff. Bring him here and slowly let him do more and more but the thought he'll just be a safety alone is laughable to me there's no way they keep him stagnant

Canes are doing it right and being honest with the kid. He has a chance to play right away as a DB or he get buried in the lineup as RB.....

How old are you (no diss)? These 17/18 YO have an invincibility complex (as we all did at that age). He believes in his ability so much that will not matter to someone of how skillset. Kids who stress about depth charts are slightly weak minded. Is it important, yes. But the kids that make it to the league see no one better than them at any level. And that’s how he comes off to me at least.

Frank Gore still not worried about depth charts.

Unless we hear it directly from the coaches or the player we don’t know exactly what the coaches have told Richards. I doubt they would lie to him.
Don’t know what other schools would do but I can only imagine.
A lot of question marks at db given we want battle Nunn and Ryque and 2 of those look like they ain’t coming. A lot of smoke about Kenny Mac and the Sooners as well as the debate on weather Quan is a take.
This school has a track record of putting kids in the best position to succeed with the skill set that they have and that is with out question.
Imagine if the 🐐 would be in high school now.
This place would explode trying to figure out where to put him.

Here’s some interviews and the state chip highlights where he basically won the game.

That was the most dominant performance at any level that I have seen from one player in a single game ever.

4 TDs and over 11 tackles with an INT I believe.

What a monster!

We were so blessed to have had him.

If he would have come out in this day and age with recruiting sites, camps etc... we would have never landed him and the bidding war for him would have gotten crazy.

RIP ST26

Not privy to their conversations with the kid, but I'd tell him he can choose and be happy to better my team by adding a really special football player. Things got a way of sorting themselves out position wise.

I trust the staff knows this kid & knows what they're doing, but it'd be super disappointing to lose this guy by pushing so hard for defense...electric with the ball in his hands.

Tell the kid you think his future is on defense but recruit him at the position he wants to play. It'll work itself out. He either balls at that position, or you go to him when he's down towards the bottom of the depth chart and ask him if he wants to keep getting scout team reps or wants to run the 1's and 2's somewhere on defense. Guess which he'll pick.

Just get him to sign that LOI by any means necessary.

He may sign in December if he feels ready but he won't be an EE even if he does.
