Mark D'Onofrio to face Georgia Tech's spread option attack

There is a quote in an Atlanta article today (which is linked through the ESPN ACC blog) where GT's guard says (paraphrasing) that he and his Oline roommates have concluded that, of their opponents, "pound for pound" Miami has the best scheme/approach to stop their offense and has it figured out best.

so they already are conceding defeat?

I think Golden mentioned that this is D'Onofrio's 8th time going against this offense.

Hate that cut blocking crap in the worse way. Coach D has their wing t/spread option/veer/out-dated offense figured out, but I do not like their offensive linemen diving sideways at our defensive linemen's knees.

This is my favorite matchup for the year for our defense. There's nothing like watching 5 guys dive at or DL's knees every snap like a bunch of ****ing retards.

I wonder if we will use a 5 man line at times vs. Ga Tech. That or a 4-3 under essentially putting an OLB as a DE standing up and playing with 2 Lb's. I am confident enough in our secondary to match-up 1-1 man coverage against this throwing attack.

we havent done that in the past to my recollection so i doubt we do it now

We've done it plenty. The SAM lined up on the TE on the LOS. 4-3 Under look
