I think 2026 is Mario's biggest class yet. We have NIL, he has proven he has rebuilt the program, he isnt a qb killer, he isnt just smashmouth football, etc.

Every ingredient for a legit monster top 3 type class to help replace the current Sophomore class that would be on their way out and any short term transfers.

I think a lot of these kids decided before the season where they were going. Not as good of a year locally either.

Man next year it seems like we’ll have some decent talent at DL at least. Scott, lightfoot, Pickett, Blount, Jones…

Jesus some of these guys gotta be ready

Not to mention Bain and Mconathy(sp).

We have no reason to believe these freshmen will be ready for the bright lights next season. ****, the 23 class looking mad suspect, at the moment. 24’ class is showing more promise but not enough to win the ACC. 25’ class, well…

Sure, the portal could help but given our history in that department with the majority being mid, I’m not optimistic.

Mostly agree but the money isn’t endless. Ie we have to distribute wisely and the people we’re competing for are getting $ and nil. It’s not like we’re the only ones who got money. All the top 5 programs have as much or more. I’m not happy about where we’re at either and I hear you / personally love that phrase

This is the answer. A vast majority of the top 100 guys are mostly decided before the season even starts. So, based on that logic 2026 should be an elite year for recruiting.

Agreed. At some point, Mario has to be willing to take L’s when paying. Oregon, OSU, Texas, etc., take more risks than we do with certain kids. Want to play with the big boys then you better compete at all levels. Scared money don’t make money.

I promise you we’ve done paid up. Been in and around the conversations. It’s not the Yankees lol. We have a salary cap.my worry is actually making sure we’re running at truth. Like I said to a good buddy of mine. We couldn’t do better than meesh and Harris FOH. We couldn’t get another corner FOH. We made the wrong bets. That’s a much bigger worry for me. But all eyes on WINNING THE FING ACC!!!

I promise you, I’ve had conversations, as well. I know we spend but I don’t agree with some of the decisions we have made.

I agree with your take. Last year, Miami was not aggressive (only taking depth pieces) with the portal until after spring because they realized how good Cam was. I hope we don’t make the same mistake next month. The December portal has much more quality players than the spring portal. School’s are about to go ham for these kids and hope we are ready.
