When I heard him I too thought he was talking about 26.
 
I think we finish with the 8th or 9th ranked class for the 2025 class. Pretty good class. A few years back we'd have been delighted with that. I hope to finish a little higher given the season we're having, but can't hit grand slams every year. Should still get a lot of quality starters.

Get us 1-2 big flips, a few of these kids uncommitted and you have a top 10 class. Then fill in with key portal guys

If we throw in a Heisman QB, an ACC Champ game experience and a playoff experience (no prediction on either outcome..just making it"

I think 2026 is Mario's biggest class yet. We have NIL, he has proven he has rebuilt the program, he isnt a qb killer, he isnt just smashmouth football, etc.

Every ingredient for a legit monster top 3 type class to help replace the current Sophomore class that would be on their way out and any short term transfers.
 
I think people are getting to caught up in the overall ranking. Miami has signed large classes last two years…. But the attrition has slowed as these are Mario’s croots now. DL/OL in a good place, RB is good, WR is good, TE is good.

I’d be fine taking a stab at 3 to 5 massive targets (elite WRs, secondary) and then signing instant impact in portal. The nucleus of the 25’ HS class is great.

Good points!
I'd add to the above, that player evals & development has increased quite a bit with this staff as well. Guys like OJ, Lofton, Pruitt make the class so much better than the overall ranking shows.

Yep. Don’t forget Markell Bell, McConathy

The reviews for the 2025 have been outstanding.
Patterson, Lyle too. Even the players UM didn’t close on (CJ Bailey, Stewart, Lucas etc) the evaluations have been off the charts.

What exactly are we rewarding? You guys are just naming everyone in the class. Need to draw the line at what ROI we are actually wanting. Warm bodies or difference makers. McConathy is in the 2 deep and has 1 tackle this season. I'd pump the brakes on what is happening here.

Fair points. I guess Im projecting development. Think last years class has more than a few NFL players
