Mario on the 2025 recruiting class, buckle up

Yes he does his own evaluations, but he loves his Top 250 players too.

We had a couple guys commit in October, then Cole in mid November. The flips started with Justin Scott right around or just after thanksgiving and then we got Hayes and Blount just before Xmas.

How this isn’t being discussed more is surprising. This is the best we can do at 9-0 with Cam? Sure, we will flip kids but how many are realistic? We will see..

On the other hand, staff seems to be extremely aggressive with 2026 class.

Team is 9-0 and D said he thinks we land a top 5 class. To crack the top 5 we will need an absolutely huge class point number so they know what comes with saying stuff like that

What is wrong with some of you people? Did Daddy beat you when you were a child? Some of you are the lowest T Betas I’ve ever encountered, shamelessly parading yourselves down CiS Avenue in full drag, crying for attention as you wait in anticipation for a failure. GTFOH with that nonsense.

Since Mario arrived, the entire culture of this program has changed. We are ranked #4 nationally and while our D is not worthy of that ranking, our offense most definitely is. All you have to do in football is score more points than the other team. 3-0 counts the same as 63-58. Our recruiting at the HS level and the portal is better than under the previouth regime. We are building quality depth. We are fvkking relevant nationally again - and not for just one outlier season (ahem 2017). If we win a natty this year, wonderful. If we don’t, we don’t. Either way our program is undeniably headed in the right direction. NO ONE on this board would e turned down being 9-0 in November. We saw this last year with regard to recruiting. Let the man cook and have some faith.

I sat in Cal Memorial Stadium a month ago and saw the scoreboard showing 35-10. I thought about leaving. Then, like some sort of transcendent message from above, I remembered two things:
1. I have ********s. Two to be exact. Two very large and encased in a hairy sack balls that produce testosterone.
2. I am a Miami Hurricane. We don’t quit. We don’t give up. We are loyal. We are special. F Notre Dame, WE are God’s children.
I stayed. I witnessed. I screamed. I celebrated. I was proud.

Remember your balls brethren.

We ain’t done yet.

First off...great post. Love the energy. 9-0 when most of us were thinking 7-2, still in it for the ACC and maybe right on the cusp of a playoff but even a bit bowl win shows massive improvement.

2nd....

If anyone has @JG14 and @JG13 cell numbers please do a wellness check to make sure they didnt hit their heads when they passed out reading this....

That's not a fair comment, my friend. I haven't run around saying anything about "trap games" or doom-and-gloom on the field. I haven't even said anything negative about the state of this recruiting class all season. And you know I've admonished people for some sad conduct going into and coming out of various games.

But people wanting to throw a parade over a comment by Mario on the Joe Rose show (that Mario also qualified with "might be") are acting like Mario should be saying anything other than what he's saying when asked about recruiting 5 weeks from signing day. I'm not doubting we'll close strong. I'm saying nothing Mario says between now and signing day should be considered some big clue that we're going to close strong.

There’s a couple of goobers running around here but in general anyone that’s stuck it out through these dark times and is still here is cool with me no matter what they say

We gotta have fun with it because the tension of the season is getting palpable

when having a great year the effects are usually felt on that next class. You can still get a few in the current but 2026 should be the really elite class now that the kids see what can be done
