Let me rephrase.

I do not think he is bull****ting to try and sell the class to improve optics and momentum.

Hard not to believe the class is about to explode behind success on the field for the first time, following two top classes.

Exactly. It's not like he's going to say "this class is mostly filler and depth." For all we know, he's saying its the best class because its the only one without a polarizing QB.

Its all subjective anyway. We don't know what Mario values most in a class. On paper though, its not as good as the prior 2.

As far as rankings go..

If we flip Lowe, Carter, Arnoux, Alford and Hanks, we'd probably finish around 10th.

If we flip Pickett, Lowe, Carter, Arnoux, Alford and Hanks, best case is probably 7th.

Even if we added someone like Justus Terry or Elijah Griffin to the 6 above, we'd probably still finish 7th.

We're not flipping all those guys. But even if we did, I still don't think it would be a better class than last year's.

I don’t think he’d phrase it like that if he didn’t think it was realistic. He might say another excellent class or another top 10 class or something like that but there’s no reason to publicly raise expectations unless you think you can meet them

He did that last year when we were 7-5. I’m not sure we’ll get to a top 5 class again. But I think we can be very confident he’s going to close strong. And his words suggest we’re going to close stronger than last year

maybe hes sees starters, and guys that fit right away
a 2nd straight very good DB class, a future QB, another top back, starting day 1 center possibly, 3 good wideouts, 2 DT's he sees underranked, one of the best LB core we've brought in before

however we have 10 of the top 250 on on3 currently, before the late close

Someone with more time on their hands needs to track when the flips started happening last year.

I know everyone was *****ing that it was a weak class heading down the stretch - then suddenly we started landing 'whale' after 'whale.
