Underrated post. People today will say “Butch accomplished…” NONE of that was known in 1997! NONE OF IT! All we knew is we were losing. Banner planes were flown to fire Butch. They weren’t flying banner planes to say “Hang in there, Butch! You are building something special! In 2003 your players will set draft records!”

Dabo Swiney is the poster child for this. 19-15 going into season #3 (he was 6-7 in 2010). Even with a terrible 6-7 season, he still brought in the #10 class in the country. No reason why Mario, who brought in a top 15 class in less than two months, couldn't do that.

Clemson was an 8-win-a-year team program for two decades before Dabo. South Carolina owned them, and they did not have the resources they needed before Dabo showed them the light. We've been underfunded for decades. Lucky for us, NIL is changing the game, and the school and donors are spending money now. Everyone starts somewhere.

Nice attempt at a strawman but I never claimed that only Cubans instill values. I also never claimed that people care about nationality as you put it. You meant ethnicity. My nationality is American and so is Coach Cristobal's but it's all good. Also I wasn't being sensitive as much as I was being facetious.

This may come as a shock to you but I could care less that Mario shares my Cuban heritage in the context of how I view his performance. I want him to succeed just like I would want any Miami HC to succeed.
 
Not an excuse maker I liked the hire but still saw the losses pile up cause of the roster. But that’s how I always see things if your roster is up and down u can lose to scrubs. If your evals are bad as well your screwed, if u can’t close your screwed.

Don't lump me and my friends in that group. We sat in Doak til the bitter end in 97. Watched all other Canes fans but our group leave. We had hours long conversations with Nole fans about what was happening at Miami. I warned them what was coming. All of us in our group saw exactly what Butch was building. They went to every single game during his tenure, I missed the UCLA game that was rescheduled. Only thing I was wrong about, I predicted it would be 99, not 2000 that we emerged as the best team in the country.

The dolphins being good this year is helping me cope with how bad The university of Miami is this year , keep winning dolphins cause if both teams was bad this year….. i probably would of jumped off a bridge lol.

We got the Heat too. Thank god for the Heat, the only good team in this town for the last decade. A down year for them is an 8th seed

I remember when sports radio down here would talk football 24/7 even when Shaq/Wade was here and this was basketball season. Times have changed, the football teams have been losing so much that now they talk a lot about basketball.

One banner in 97....not multiple...give no Fs about the banner they flew....In all actuality, it should have said, "Thanks Dennis" for the Glop of Sh*t you left us in".....

We will very soon be on top of college football all this will make victory so sweet.

I’m very familiar with addiction my daughter is a recovering addict.

I’ve stood before many judges in court fighting to get my daughter help telling judges she’s a liar cheat stole from me stole my car recked my car as she told the judge the same POOR ME victim story next to me lying.

Finally Judge sent her to a lockdown recovery center (6) months hard monitoring cameras type home.

Never ever sugar coat anything to addicts you raw dog them hard no slack , OP needs help and WON’T seek help he’ll just POOR ME everyone this is how addiction works they POOR ME to death everyone.

They play off emotions like OP did hear , you tough love addicts if you don’t your this post will never end in OP life.

I want to hear OP say he’s going to be gone do to recovery reasons NOT POOR ME .

IT DOES NOT WORK .

My daughter has been clean for years now and helps us at home , see addiction is everyone addiction in the family unit my wife and I pay the price of her addiction even to this day on constant alert 🚨.

I don’t apologize at all to this post we need to hear OP is in a lockdown recovery center.

Yeah - the Mid Tenn loss is probably worse. I'm just jaded at this point.

I just cared more then and knew how talented we actually were. I think the current team just has ok talent - so I'm not surprised by these games as much.

IMO I think this was one of those we turned the ball over on our first 3 possessions and it spiraled from there. I don't think think things are actually near as bad as they looked Saturday. But - we'll see how they respond the rest of the season from here to see if that's true or not.
