Mario defenders - Let’s hears those excuses

He’s in an environment where he’ll have to. If this offense doesn’t take a step, he’s going to get rid of Gattis. Imho, no coaching staff gets it right on the first go around. Takes time to 1) stack talent and 2) get the right staff in place. It’s trial and error from ****.

You get your *** kicked like we just did - by a team like we just fell apart to -

You're NOT GETTING a STACKING OF TALENT!

Yeah, of course you did. Too bad we can't bring up the old Grassy pages. Randy and Steve leading the charge of blasting "Botch/ Freckles".

And those idiots had the nerve to claim that Pete Garcia was the genius behind Butch's success.

Why not? Tennessee lost to Georgia State in 2019, then went 3-7 in 2020. Now they're top 10. Lots of teams turn it around quickly.

dudes a corch i'm sorry guys, look at what pederson just did with the jaguars.

that's excellent coaching and what it does, and corch corstobal should have something of that look but he does not. The jaguars went from a laughing stock to ****ting on two teams back to back within their first 3 games. That's coaching and nothing but coaching.
yeah thats also the NFL, you are comparing apples and oranges. Not excusing Mario's team losing and giving up 45pts at all but your analagy doesn't work.

Yeah...I mean look I like Mario. I think he has great qualities. about 15 years ago I remember having discussions with folks regarding Mario's need to go out and be a coordinator and learn offense from someone, some guru/specialist. I think the FIU job was a bad idea for Mario, it was a false sense of "I made it" when he really didn't build any significant skill sets that could set him apart in a dynamic way. He's learned "Culture" and perhaps "Organization".......but in 2022.....bruh, X's and O's kill it. There is not time in this day and age for a 5 year rebuild...you get demolished and consumed by bigger programs on the recruiting trail.

The whole "Mario is Miami's son/bro..." stuff is super annoying......but yes, he will be protected by the Miami bro mafia for a while. There has been too much focus on the "Son of Miami" BS. Listen, Shannon was a REAL HARDSHIP SON OF MIAMI....much more so than Mario. That dude grew up in the hood of Miami, lived it, etc. Mario's story is kind of fake. I went to Columbus in the early 90's and attended Miami Catholic schooling.....This idea that he was raised in some tough hard working culture is COMPLETE BULL****!!! It's literally LMFAO material. There is no more yuppie, "Bro", connected, political, entitled culture than the CCHS familia. I know...I lived it and to an extend am a part of it and very proud of our life bonds.....but it's all "Miami bro" type stuff.

I am pulling for this to all work and end up a grand success.....some serious changes will be needed soon. I can promise you the Columbus Mafia will protect him to the death and buy him as much time to get it done as possible....That's how CCHS and the "Community" rolls. Shannon never ever would have had this type of support and behind the scenes backing.
Oh! I understand completely now. To be a real son of Miami you have to have lived in the hood. It's all so clear now. So if you didn't come up in the hood then it's impossible for you to come from a hard working culture. So if you went to Columbus that means that you grew up politically entitled. It makes so much sense now. I had no idea! As a Cuban American I always thought that my parents instilled in me a great work ethic but now I know I was just misled. I used to admire the way my father busted his A$$ so that I could at least have an opportunity. I admired my father for coming to this country without a cent in his pocket and doing whatever it took to make ends meet whether that was washing dishes or moping floors while he learned the English language and literally willed his way into Medical School. What was I thinking? Thank you for opening my eyes! My sincere thanks.

it's a recent example from a football game, at any level at that. You want cfb examples there's plenty of them man, plenty of them.

In before someone brings up Saban losing to ULM year 1 at Bama.
You have to cover the back-up….Hurricane Howard lost to FAMU year 1….

but he kicked everyone’s *** in the locker room afterward.
We went on to beat #19 PSU 4 weeks later in Happy Valley.

Why does everyone feel the need to abandon ship or throw in the towel.
Seen plenty of times where teams had a bad week and didn’t pay to their potential. We played bad this week and not excusing the loss, but let’s be honest we’ve played in 1 ACC Championship game since its inception, but we posting about Mario being worst coach ever in 4 games, like we were some power house before he got here. We haven’t started ACC play yet and I still say that goal is not completely gone. Hopefully we see better effort on all phases. Call me stupid for not writing him off after 4 weeks.

LOL. Everyone is so sensitive. Bottom line is that being a “Son of Miami” is completely irrelevant to the job. It has ZERO IMPACT AT ALL. NOTHING…..other than Mario is the “Son of wealthy people and connections” so he will get more leeway and support. These are facts.

As someone who grew up in the EXACT spaces as Mario around the same time….as could care less about it. It has no real impact on the role and responsibilities….nor the outcome. Too much melo drama bs.

And what, you think every nationality doesn’t instill values into people? Work ethic? Nobody gives a crap about nationality in sports.

Don't agree with this. There are literally tons of good head coaches right now who 1) struggled in year 1 and 2) were still able to put together solid classes. There'd be no point in recruiting if kids wouldn't look at a school that was struggling.

Dabo Swiney is the poster child for this. 19-15 going into season #3 (he was 6-7 in 2010). Even with a terrible 6-7 season, he still brought in the #10 class in the country. No reason why Mario, who brought in a top 15 class in less than two months, couldn't do that.
