Manny vs Mario

Facts are NOT irrational. Irrational is trying to say the #s lie. Will we be better going forward with Mario than Manny, maybe, hopefully, but after 3 years there is no differentiation. Suggest you look up irrational in the dictionary....
there is absolutely a difference, we were headed to where FSU is with Manny, he was qualified to manage target when he got hired, but he didn't hire himself, he gutted the roster, we had crap recruiting, no future, Mario was hired to rebuild the program, not a quick fix, am I disappointed we lost today sure, but always knew this was a long term hire, stack the roster year of year, make the program better.

its a win win for us, either he succeeds or leaves a very good team behind for next coach, he will get 5+ years to prove it.

This should not be a real discussion, but it is. Which is the problem. Mario has underachieved and instills so little confidence he can fix it that we are looking back at the first head coaching experience of a coach who failed here.

We are with familiar foes - can't fire the coach, so better use the buy-out money on NIL until it lowers enough to move on.

He gets until week 4 of next season - if he is 2-2 with losses to ND and UF, fly the banners because he ain't it. To get to 4-0, we will need to RAID the portal to fill the gaps.

UM put almost no resources into the program when Herbie had his rant. And yet Diaz still had a far better record in 2020 than Cristobal(with virtually unlimited resources). at Oregon post-Herbert. I have a bad feeling that’s where we are headed next year. You all can check my previous posts but I didn’t understand why people thought Cristobal was worth 2.5x the salary as Diaz. Fans have pipe dreams that UM is going back to the 1990s with Butch Davis building a juggernaut. For the sake of your own sanity, please realize that’s not happening. If UM is ever going to win another championship, it will be with a coach who has proven he can get the most out of his roster. It doesn’t matter if Cristobal gets multiple classes ranked 7th. They are going to be poorly coached and blow games to less talented teams. Would have been better off with coach that gets classes ranked around 10/11 and knows how to put them in positions to win.

And I’ll end with this Diaz was FAR better at hiring coordinators and coaches. Cristobal is a CEO coach, he relies more on his coordinators on both sides of the ball. He hires people he trusts, not the people who are more qualified and may push back when things need to change.

unfortunately I said this before the Syracuse game- if we lost, it would be the equivalent of the Diaz UNC blowout. It was almost unrecoverable after that.

We’re on the Titanic right now a few minutes after it hit the iceberg. I am not trying to be a mope- just taking a sober look at the roster and what I think the atmosphere is around the program. You all can laugh at Sunbelt Billy but recruits are excited about UF because of the QB situation and the conference. Bama and UGA are slipping, so there it’s not impossible for Billy to sell that the SEC championship is a possibility next year.
Pick your poison having the talent or not having the talent. Not many coaches out there who get the talent and the most out of it.

Mario is the biggest mistake this program has made. Way too much money for the same results as Randy, Golden, and Manny. Richt is the only one to make the ACC championship. Think about that boys, really think hard about how much money has been spent on this fraud.
Nobody else will get a financial commitment anywhere close to what Mario has been given… if he’s gone, Miami goes back to a poverty program, and in the NIL era that’s a death sentence.

But also, why do you want me to think hard about how much money a group of very wealthy people has infused into this program? It’s not my money. Or yours.

You make it sound as if they were going to use that money to buy us all a pair of Z Cavaricci’s… until that meddling Mario came along and ruined everything.

noble idea, the banner guys, use their nickels and dimes and help get some players
but complaining is more satisfying to many than helping

Cam drove the trajectory and expectations of this years team. We would have been 8-4 without him.

I tend to stay clear of the Manny Mario discussion since Manny has been gone for years but for what we paid and what we got in return, we got shafted!

The criticism for Mario will only grow louder after we take that proverbial step backward that assuredly will come when we lose Cam and X this year.

This season has been exhausting. I'm glad the roller coaster ride is finally over. We were never good enough.

Always the cop out that people complaining don't help. Is that only for Mario? What level of ineptness will we need to see when complaining is the only way to save the program like it was with other coaches?

That’s what I didn’t get. Diaz shouldn’t have been hired in the first place, but that decision was made. And once that decision was made, we knew we had a coach who was going to be learning on the job. But he was basically fired after a 8-3 season because of the UNC debacle. We opened the next year against Bama and got blown out- that’s when everyone said “It’s year 3 and we’re not good enough to compete with Bama, Diaz is on borrowed time.” Then DEriq King got hurt. Imagine our record if Ward was lost the third game of the season. Diaz didn’t even make it through the full season when UM decided Cristobal was the answer. The problem is he had an 8 year track record showing he constantly lost games he shouldnt.

In 2019 fans said UM had zero talent on offense. A big part of that was Enos. The next season Lashlee turned into a top 25 offense. Then he did it again the next year with a different QB. It impressed the **** out of me. Missed our chance, now we are stuck for five more years.

He isn't going anywhere. Does not mean it is the correct decision. Our administration has proven to be inept time and time again.
they were for 20 years, never hired someone had that had a plan, we went on Mario with lots of money to rebuild it, its a long term view

people can complain all they want but wasting money banners after 10 wins and 3 straight very good recruiting classes, I think next year will be our best, seems counterproductive, spend the money to compete in today's college football, donate for recruits. UF Fans are
