Except Manny won 10 games in year 2 and then fell off a cliff in year 3. Clear regression vs Mario has showed annual progression. Also, Manny won those 10 games during Covid when many programs weren’t as competitive due to the dysfunctions college athletics at the time.

Look at our schedule next year. It’s not the cupcake this year is. The cliff is coming.

We are in a better place in 2024 than we were in 2021. That’s a low bar and an easy argument.

But we are paying Mario to build something sustainable. We can’t afford a step back. Lots of work to be done in the offseason.

I don’t think Manny is better than Mario but I’d bet Nanny wouldn’t sit by and watch his defense get destroyed the way Mario did without him making changes to personnel or scheme even if it meant him doing it.
Idk how many times I have to repeat this. Mario cannot make any changes to the offense or defense, bc he doesn’t know how to. If he doesn’t demand it happen during the week or change coaches to make it happen during the week, it’s not happening. He’s a sitting duck on the sidelines during games.

it was awful, Manny is incompetent, he was running the program into the ground, he couldn't build a roster, he was going downhill fast, there is zero comparison, if you want to be successful in life you have to be rational, your post was irrational
Facts are NOT irrational. Irrational is trying to say the #s lie. Will we be better going forward with Mario than Manny, maybe, hopefully, but after 3 years there is no differentiation. Suggest you look up irrational in the dictionary....

Agreed. He brings very little of value on game day. His own unit is a let down. The wall of mirabal gets mauled more than acceptable for the hype. Bell was abused again today.

The end of Manny’s tenure was so bad it lead to Herbies epic rant.

UM put almost no resources into the program when Herbie had his rant. And yet Diaz still had a far better record in 2020 than Cristobal(with virtually unlimited resources). at Oregon post-Herbert. I have a bad feeling that’s where we are headed next year. You all can check my previous posts but I didn’t understand why people thought Cristobal was worth 2.5x the salary as Diaz. Fans have pipe dreams that UM is going back to the 1990s with Butch Davis building a juggernaut. For the sake of your own sanity, please realize that’s not happening. If UM is ever going to win another championship, it will be with a coach who has proven he can get the most out of his roster. It doesn’t matter if Cristobal gets multiple classes ranked 7th. They are going to be poorly coached and blow games to less talented teams. Would have been better off with coach that gets classes ranked around 10/11 and knows how to put them in positions to win.

And I’ll end with this Diaz was FAR better at hiring coordinators and coaches. Cristobal is a CEO coach, he relies more on his coordinators on both sides of the ball. He hires people he trusts, not the people who are more qualified and may push back when things need to change.

unfortunately I said this before the Syracuse game- if we lost, it would be the equivalent of the Diaz UNC blowout. It was almost unrecoverable after that.

We’re on the Titanic right now a few minutes after it hit the iceberg. I am not trying to be a mope- just taking a sober look at the roster and what I think the atmosphere is around the program. You all can laugh at Sunbelt Billy but recruits are excited about UF because of the QB situation and the conference. Bama and UGA are slipping, so there it’s not impossible for Billy to sell that the SEC championship is a possibility next year.

Maybe, maybe not...we need to see the fallout from this loss. The tangible results after year 3 says we're the same except for spending a lot more money. Next year's schedule is brutal compared to this year's cakewalk with Notre Dame and SMU being added, Florida will probably be much improved, we still have Louisville, Syracuse, VT and add Pitt and NC State.

I think it's safe to say this is not where we expected to be after year 3 of Mario...22-15
