Major news on NCAA investigation

It's a notice of allegations, not of penalties for them. The letter will include the findings by the NCAA and then Miami can refute certain information on it and then offer their self-imposed penalties. The NCAA will look at that and then deem if they are fair or need more added to it.

Right, but knowing the allegations go a long way in predicting what sanctions we might be getting and serves as good information to base whether or not we want to self-impose a bowl again.

I guess but even then, we can't really know exactly what the penalties will be. My main point is that people are bracing thinking that the letter will tell us how many scholarships we will lose or if another bowl ban is needed. They won't know any of that from the letter if and when they get it.

I'd probably still put my money on D

@ByTimReynolds: Going to be as clear as I can on this: No one at Miami believes that the NCAA letter arrival is imminent.

30 schollies over a 4 year period, 4-5 years probation, 500k - 1 million fine, 2-3 year bowl ban, and a crap load of show of causes. This is my guess; however, that is a long time down the road, we won't hear that for about another 6 months. The LOA will only list the allegations.

No trollin' on the football board.

We skate.

Ain't trolling. I am serious, I think that is what we get. I have been saying it for a while. I would love that we skate, and I think those would be manageable. The only one that I am on the fence about is possibility of a 3 year bowl ban instead of a 2 year ban, and for that reason I say we self impose and hope for only 2 so that kids can't transfer out.

Without knowing what the allegations are, let alone what can be proved, how can you think anything in particular is what we will get. You are making a wild guess... Here is a list of all schools that have received more than 2 year "bowl bans." Do you know what each school did to earn the "bowl bans"? If I have time, maybe I'll let you know later today.

Auburn '58-'60

Indiana '60-'63
K State '70-'72
Miami '54-'56
Mich. St. '76-'78
NC State '56-'59
OK St '89-'91
Penn St. '12-'15
