Someone posted earlier that he should redshirt this year.

I say no to that; give him as much experience and as many live reps as he can get to prepare him for that torch in 2026.

What's your thoughts? Any word on staff's intentions on this?

I think he should be our backup, if he wins the job. I’d bet on him.

Do you know anything about Nickel. He just keeps getting better. Absolutely annihilated the other team to win the state finals.

And that team he beat was Langston Hughes same team Air Noland came from they no slouch

Typically we sign QBs who peak early
In HS, if at all. This young man finished his Sr campaign on his high note.

Ready for a hypothetical mope? I am already worried that we are going to crown him for next season and it ends up a Jackson Arnold at Oklahoma situation.

He looks awesome, but assuming there is elite and proven talent in the portal, I want a portal QB all day and every day.

I hear ya.

I feel like Beck is best as 2nd fiddle on an offense. I feel like Nickel IS a 1st fiddle, per se.

But it's not to say that Beck can't be better for Miami playing a 2nd fiddle role than Nickel is playing 1st fiddle.

Personally, I like QB's who are not the end all, be all for an offense.

So I guess I talked myself into liking Beck over Nickel. Thanks man. lol.

Ideally Nickel can win the spring first team reps over Emory with Beck on the mend.

Would be great development without the pressure of ND.

****, even if he can’t “earn” the first team reps, give them to him over trash Emory on athleticism alone.

Not sure I’d call it a silver lining when your starting QB is injured but…it’s gonna be great to get Nickel those reps. Even if Emory is a Greentree AA Nickel is gonna blow by him
