Love to know the real story

LULZ at Al's Army coming out in force after he slimed his way back into town like a fat oozing snail.

Here are the facts:
1. He disappeared for about 3 days on the eve of UM's EEs enrolling and in the 11th hour of the normal recruiting cycle;
2. He interviewed with Ped State;
3. He didn't have to interview with Ped State;
4. He didn't deny wanting the Ped State job until after it was apparent Ped State was interviewing other candidates today.
5. Recruits, commits and players were publicly expressing fear and doubt about him leaving;
6. He did nothing to alleviate any of those doubts until 3 days later;
7. Valentine de-committed during his dalliance with Ped State.

Why would an employed HC interview with another program and go dark for 3 days and risk losing recruits, risk alienating his current players, and lose a lot of support from UM fans if he didn't want the job that he was interviewing for? Why put yourself through all that if you didn't want the job? Wouldn't be easier for the HC and cause a lot less of the headaches I listed to just refuse the interview if you didn't want the job?

That fat flop sweater wanted that job. And none of you boot lickers will ever convince me otherwise. Use your heads for something other than a receptacle for Al's putz.

The biggest thing no matter how the slurpers try to spin it, even Donna herself didnt have a clue and said as much to media what Golden was doing at one point yesterday. That tells you all you need to know right there .

LOL WUT? What does that "tell you"? Doesnt tell me jack other than he was probably considering the job. I think its just as likely that they made him an offer, and he said he would take 48 hours to mull it over with his family. Its obviously possible he was never offered the job, or that he was told they would not be making a decision soon and that they were going to be interviewing other people and he bowed out, but NO ONE here can say what happened.

I have a hard time believing PSU flew down here with their big wigs for just an interview and without any intention of offering him the gig.

Its the guy's alma mater, and its what obviously was the guy's dream job for most of his career. If it was offered to him, there is no way he would have turned it down without giving it serious thought, which I think may well have been what he was doing. And if that's the case, I cant hate on the guy. He got the offer he wanted all his life, and after thinking it through, turned it down to stay with us.

Sure its possible he was never offered it, but we will never know what really happened, and all this "tells you all you need to know" stuff is B.S. Right now, everyone is spinning this in whatever way they want, based on their own personal views on Golden. The fact is no one knows jack of how it went down.
I don't know what happened. But you've officially turned into the biggest ****** on this site. You will come out with the most far fetched excuses and scenerios to justify your position. I don't care if its his alma mater, for a man that preaches integrity and loyalty you can't tell me interviewing for the job and going silent for 3 days is not a disloyal move. He was job hunting, disappeared and his own boss had no idea what was going on. He wanted that job and he wanted out of Miami. Whether he was offered or not doesn't matter. What matters is that he wanted another job. Spin it however you want, but those are the facts.

LMFAO at your assbaggery. You must be a Fugging moron. All you do is run from thread to thread spewing dog sh*t in your perpetual PMS over Golden. Everying is another excuse for you to b*tch and moan and trash the staff, and anyone who even attempts to inject reason or some common sense into a discussion. Now its "far fetched" that Golden agreed to hear PSU's offer and pitch, and then turned them down after thinking about it? WHY? Schiano did the SAME thing to us when Randy got canned. Dave Wannstache did the same thing to us when Butch left. But suddenly its INCONCEIVABLE that Golden would??? LMAO

And spare me your sanctimonious bullsh8t, you sound like a clueless f*cking clown. You tell me ONE PERSON, in ANY PROFESSION, who would not listen if their DREAM JOB opened up and they were contacted as a top contender for it. PSU may have come down here offering AG 4 million a year. DOUBLING his salary, but he's not going to listen to them? His alma mater? The school he played at, loves, and dreamed of coaching at? But he's a disloyal f*ck for listening to their offer? Werent you one of the ones s*cking Butch Davis' d*ck here over the last few days? How loyal was Butch to UM when Cleveland came calling? How loyal was JJ when Jerry Jones called? GTFOH with that bullsh*t. You have NO f8cking clue what happened here. None of us do. Maybe they turned him down, maybe he chose not to take it. Either way, he's still our HC, and is likely to be our HC for the next year or two MINIMUM, so either find a way to live with it, or do the world a favor and go drink a bottle of bleach.

So Miami isn't his dream job. Did golden not say it was when he was hired? Was he lying? I don't care what happened in this scenario. I care that he dropped off the radar for three days while flirting with another program. You may be ok with it, but **** you if you think its ok to do that and that would not be a fire-able offense in any profession. Drop off the radar at your job while your boss knows you are job searching, see what happens. Its not a good look. Again spin it however you want, but thats not how you handle business especially for a man that talks about loyalty and integrity.

Also if he left after winning a Championship I could give a ****. Or if he left after building a powerhouse, but not winning it all like Butch did, then **** him but thank you anyway. The guy tried to leave after fielding the worst ******* defense back to back. Great way to leave a program.

There is no denying this. Every action he did, pointed at exactly this.

Question for those that really care is: 1. Did he even get offered? 2. If yes, why negged at the last minute (Dorito)?

Going forward,

1. Is it better for the program that he stayed? I think short term, yes. Long term, maybe and TBD.

That's it.

Honestly I think when he took the job he said he considered it a "destination job".. Even if he did say it, how many recruits go elsewhere every year after claiming we were their dream school? If they ended up coming here, would you still complain about them taking visits? Not saying I support AG but this part is a non-issue IMO.

You gotta be f*cking kidding me dude. Seriously? And I dont recall Golden saying THIS was his "dream job", he said this was "A" dream job, and a "destination job", he never said it was "HIS" personal dream job. He never pledged that he would be here forever and never consider any other offers from anyone. Every coach says and does the SAME **** thing, but suddenly Golden is the traitor of the century and a scumbag for listening to an offer from his alma mater.

Look, at the end of the day, its about results. If he cant get it done, his @ss will be gone. But this endless b*tch fest about everything the guy does or says is getting beyond played out. You cats look for ANYTHING the guy says or does to complain about and find fault with. You all WANTED him gone, but now your are ****ed that he considered the PSU offer? LOL

Fact is NO ONE has a clue on what went down, so its totally unfair to castigate the guy for sitting down and considering an offer, especially if said offer, would have probably doubled his salary, to go HOME to his alma mater and dream school. Taking a few days to mull it over with his family is not exactly the worst thing an HC could ever do. By all accounts the guy was in communication with James the whole time, and he never came out with any phony denials only to later admit he did meet with PSU or to bail out like Butch, or Saban did.

Im not some AG slurper. I just try to be fair to the man. I dont hate the guy, and I have my concerns, but I said from the beginning I would give the man his 4 years to see what he could do. I try to take a fair and balanced approach to things, and if you look at this in any sort of fair or unbiased way, AG didnt really do anything wrong here. And I dont think the alternative to your "scenario" is far fetched in the least. It was the same thing that happened to us in 2 of the last 3 HC searches when Schiano and Wannstache sat down with us, listened to our offer, mulled it over, and then turned it down.

If and when golden turns around the d I can't wait until this thread gets bumped. All of you nasty name callers should be banned at that point.

When they fired Munchak, Golden realized that he was PSU's 2nd choice and he slithered back to UM. Golden also realized that the more due diligence PSU executed, the lower the probability that he would receive an offer. If Golden continued to ignore the BOT, Shalala and Blake, it would provide them with grounds for a dismissal, which he was not about to fall prey to. Golden gave PSU a deadline that they could not meet and he slithered back.

I do not mind him interviewing with PSU; however, going on strike for a week AND retaining the WORST defensive coordinator in the NCAA shows a willful and blatant disregard for the program over the long-term. The data does not lie. D'Onofrio does not know what he is doing and Golden persists in retaining him.

If the defense is as bad next year as this year, he will have to fire D'Onofrio and this will set the program back another year. Unfortunately, Golden has a beautiful buyout and UM cannot fire him over the next two years (unless alumni raise $5 million, and it is more important to finish the facilities upgrade for $7 million than fire this bum).

There's one possibility, though very slim.

Golden made promises to recruits and their families. He wants the PSU job, but wants to get through the EE's, and of course Penn State HAS to go through the motions of interviewing other coaches to be able to say they exercised "due dilligence."

Since a radio interview and season-end presser was already scheduled, Golden and PSU decided to continue AFTER a few more interviews. Then, Golden can always say they made an offer he couldn't refuse, the EE's are in the school, and Golden will be better able to organize an exit strategy.

Slim to be sure, but it's still a possibility, ever how remote.

Due diligence by Penn State, and time to organize a good exit strategy by Golden.

Al keeps saying he is not a "candidate" for another job....

can·di·date

noun

1. a person who applies for a job or is nominated for election.

Why can't he just say he will be the Miami head coach as long as they want him to be (ie they fire him)

No doubt if he says "I'm not going to be the next coach at PSU" then we'll know for sure . . .:eekeyes:
