Look to the Transfer Portal: Discussion thread

B/c a JUCO guy came in & took his spot or did u forget that part? The same JUCO guy that was getting manhandled by the speed rush all yr, although Rivers coming back helped him.

Bell got beat a few times but played very well overall. And I always saw Pancake as a three year investment. People tend to forget he played in Massachusetts. I had a back and forth with Bostoncanes at the time of his recruitment saying he would be a project. So not at all surprised.

I dont think a 3 year yesr project shoulda been a 5* but hey hopefully he put it all together this year. I personally dont know about Bell dudes a moutain man an we could have had worse but i dont see nothin special outside of his size

Respectfully, why? We had 3 amazing OTs last season in Cici, Rivers and Bell, all probably go in first 3-4 rounds of NFL. Samson wouldn't still be on this team with the NIL he's making unless Mirabalio believed he would be our starting OT in the future.

We had 1 amazing RT in Cici, 1 good OT in Rivers and an average OT in Bell.

Rivers and Bell are day 3 guys

Not knowing the terms of whatever deals Pancake has, it's hard to say - but the guess here is that spring ball is crucial (obviously )in regards to his future in Miami. If he makes a move, at least in the rotation, I'd think he stays.
Whether the investment is/will become worthwhile is questionable for a developmental piece that very well may end up at guard, or playing elsewhere. Did make a splash landing a recruit of his profile early in Rio's tenure.

Re: Riley Williams speed, sometimes tall guys (6'7") appear to lumber in space, but are covering more ground than you think. Probably telling that dad chimed in about his role. If he doesn't make it as a Beaver, maybe Dad has connecs at Portland St.😂. I'll say this about the kid in terms of 'Cane lore - we'll always have Va.Tech.

The problem is, we DID do alot out of 12 personnel. But, McCormick was the second TE. I don't think he had a problem sitting behind a future Day 1/2 draft pick (Arroyo). I'd definitely have a problem with him sitting behind a 9th year senior, if he was my family.

Mario plays these type of games at DL and LB too. I honestly don't portalling in depth pieces from other schools to take snaps away from highly coveted players you recruited.
Okay but the 9th year guy is gone so now once the runway is clear *then* you transfer??

Right. He knew Arroyo and McCormick were both likely going to be gone and he would be the favorite to be #1 on the depth chart. Given that, transferring makes no sense.

I just think a lot of our fans can’t separate a player as a recruit and a player at Miami

As a recruit? Big fan of Williams

As a player at Miami? Meh.

Leave the star whoring in high school where it belongs
