Look to the Transfer Portal: Discussion thread

I get what you’re saying but Georgia, Tennessee, Arizona State, Miami, and a ton of other programs disagree and still want him - I bet they forgot that since he didn’t have good stats on a 6-6 team, he must be terrible.
I never said he was terrible. He's a special athlete but average football player. Of course teams want him because he's ultra talented and you can't teach speed but I wouldn't invest much into acquiring him. Offer him a fair number and sell him on Dawson's offense but I'm not wasting unnecessary resources on Zachariah.

This is Mario Williams 2.0.

At Tulane after sizzling out at OU and USC. He had take a step down in level of competition to post this level of production.

Mario Williams coming out of high school was super hyped up and didn't live up to it.

Christ man...I think you're both missing the point.

Maybe Mario was younger and took time to develop and that's why he fizzled at OU/USC? Then he matured and put it all together? Lower competition might have helped, but just because he wasn't a star from freshman year on doesn't mean he wasn't a viable college player. Maybe now he's developed enough to be a contributor at a P4 program. 🤷‍♂️

Everyone forgets in this day and age that sometimes players take time to develop and reach their potential. It's either they're a star or a bust in the fans' eyes though. Bonkers.

1) The acc is a step down in competition.
2) He left Lincoln Riley and performed better.
3) Mario Williams was a terrible example to use.

Probably shouldn't have taken a kid with two ACL surgeries.

Or the one who had a compound fracture and missed his entire senior year.....

The IT one was a wild offer to me - I even commented at the time of the offer that to expect the kid in the portal in the near future. Just is REALLY hard to come back from that. As for the local kid, I can see that one is more debatable as he is a highly regarded local kid from a feeder program. There's no real harm in keeping the take. Minimize expectations, though

But to be fair, LSU was taking a chance on him coming back 100 percent from that injury. They didn’t put up a fight to keep him. Is he now back to 100 percent?
My concern with him definitely was thar foot and not his talent. I'm guessing we don't push him much in the spring. Just needs to be 100% for summer.

We also offered him before he got hurt and took his commitment

Absolutely no way can you drop a kid like that after he gets hurt
