Still do not understand why we didn’t bring in Jacorey Brooks? So far he has 700 yards 8TDs in 7 games for Louisville.

But he's not even close to Ward in talent or potential. I'd be fine taking him out of the portal to round out the room with a QB that can run, but his career stats, especially accuracy, aren't impressive. He wouldn't even be a surefire starter for us next year. I'd prefer we find a true top talent

Who is? He has the ability, mechanics, and teacher (Same QB coach as Ward plus trains with Ward) to get there in 10 months. Almost impossible for someone to come in and do what Ward did and become the clear best QB in college football

No one is close to Ward. My point is that Drones might be worth the take, but it won't be as a sure thing to start. Williams has developed well thus far and has gotten a lot of praise by the staff.
There could be better options that end up in the portal. Drones would be a fallback option if nothing better comes up (assuming he even enters the portal himself). He would have been in that second tier of QBs in the portal from last year.
