Look to the Transfer Portal: Discussion thread

Jacurri and Damari would suck to see if they enter. I get it from Jacurri’s side, but I just know he’ll do well at somewhere like Auburn or UCF that actually utilize him.

I guess the million dollar question is....how are we doing in the trying to poach department?
I would love for us to do it too but Mario did mention today on the Joe Rose show that the ncaa was coming hard at teams tampering with players,so I don't know.

I don't get this......why is he leaving?
Yeah, not many touches this season, but whose fault is it that he's always injured?
He had to split carries with 3 other RB's this year (Parrish, Fletch, Ajay). Pretty clear by EOY, he's RB3 in that group only in front of Ajay. And now look whose behind him - Citizen (potential elite talent before injury), CJ (elite speed just needs size), Riley (high 4 star back) and possibly Lyle (high 4 star back).

Next year, does he really want to compete with 6-7 other highly talented backs for playing time? We have **** good depth at RB for once.

So better question, why would he stay if another good P5 program will promise him RB1/2 role and strong NIL? Is what it is in today's CFB.

And honestly, I wish the kid the best but dont see how this really hurts us. Chaney was above average but certainly not anywhere near elite. Rather bring in & keep other kids who potentialy could be elite (Citizen, CJ, Riley, Lyle) while still having Fletch/Parrish/Ajay as 3 solid starter types. Frankly i expect Parrish (pure guess based on above) to leave as well but who knows.

As Jay20 said the dad isn’t happy either. They’re family so I get it. But Damari has star locked up and would be silly to leave. But I’m sure Bama and FSU are on him.
It wouldn't be wise for Damari to leave. He's going to start next season and he fits this scheme. He goes to another school and you never know what can happen.

I get it, but that family is smoking some serious **** if they think Davonte is going to start for any quality P5 program if they transfer as a package deal.

When he did play it was a PI almost everytime. That's not even hyperbole.

This is going to be a really sad month for college football. Complete chaos and leaves fan pulling for just the college by name. So much for seeing a kid develop/improve over 4-5 years to make the league
They absolutely need to bring back the sit out year if you transfer (unless its as a grad transfer). Kids can still pick up NIL bags and be eligible for scholarship right away, as many times as they want. But they must sit out a year. Its fair and still allows movement but keeps the tampering and craziness down to a minimum. What we have now is just chaos.

You cited 6-7 other backs he would have to contend with but those backs have had injury issues, have not anything on the field as of now or unproven. Assuming he's looking at elite P5 programs, which program is going to promise him a starting job now for him to lose? He's getting some bad advise.
