losing out on any one recruit doesnt hurt, but losing out on Stevenson, Dent, Elam,Campbell, Surtain, Jobe, Divaad, Asante, Samuels, Wright, Henderson.... That will hurt us bad

Maybe, maybe not. I say because no one can say for certain that those dudes will better than the guys that actually committed. Whose to say AS, CH JudasJ will be better than GH, DJI & GF

The purse needs to opened. Period. Clemson just pays for Top QBs, DL, and WRs. But now they are dipping into DBs, LBS.

Top DBs and DL have a price tag and the competition in SOFLA is getting unreal. Bama, OSU, and now UGA live down here.

Start playing the game or we’ll never see another title. I don’t care how good of a coach we have...

Here's my worry ...we have a lot of moles in SFla...people have no problem ratting us out but won't rat out other schools. Loyalty is a premium down here these days

Man I know what FSU has been doing . But that’s part of my point . Why is FSU able to consistently get top 5 classes without winning but we have to win a title and THEN they will come
the benefit of being in FL with a college town atmosphere while also not being bum**** Gainesville.

Crazy that we just cannot keep the elite DB's at home. Something is wrong there.

I have a friend that works in a financial firm that represents baseball players.
He told me that the bagmen story is old news and amateur hour. The problems with recruiting both basketball and football began a long time ago when sports agents decided to get out of the office and step into the spotlight. After the HBO show Arliss the sports management field exploded and Jerry McGuire added fuel to the fire.
Now you had a bunch of new grads looking to get paid and networks were established that were more lucrative and more glamorous than some old white dude and a few stacks in a paper bag. Not only agents but representatives from shoe companies to work out equipment etc.
Just look at Clemson’s entire D-Line that decided to not go pro as an example. There are at a lot of tools to be used in the financial world.
No way 4 dudes would just walk away from multi million dollar signing bonuses.
Some athletes are selling percentages of theire contracts. Some of you financially savvy posters can start speculating on how this can be achieved with college athletes but here is a link on what some athletes are doing.
I also think Ryan Shazier did something similar with his contract.
Take note at the end of the article when they specify the social impact of theire brand.
So this whole Twitter following and trolling schools may have a method to the madness.

We got 4 elite dbs last year, Couch ain’t no slouch this class either. Next class Gray and Davis coming.... We not settling for Mike Williams or Ryan Mayes talent we good regardless.

When I say Elite I mean 5 star considered top 3 at their position. We aren’t landing the elite guys. We definitely did great last year landing some excellent DB’s. Just not any of the elite ones.

Two for Miami, two for others.

I'm finally feeling confident enough to pull the trigger on Mark-Antony Richards to Miami, that's been a long time coming. If you read the new Freshman 15, you know I believe Cornelius Nunn would already be committed right now if not for mom. I think eventually Miami wins her over and gets Nunn on board, his heart is here.

I've heard Tyrique Stevenson is close to making a public decision, so I'm going ahead and making the pick I've wanted to make for months and taking UGA. With Mike Morris, I don't see any way he ends up at FSU and Miami is starting to prioritize others while getting low on spots at DT. That leaves Michigan from his main contenders, so I'm going with the Wolverines.

If Richards does play CB and he certainly has the ability to do so the loss of TS is much more easily absorbed.

This is true. It goes back a lot longer than that as well. Boobah was consistently getting higher ratings than Butch, Jimmy, and Dennis. Didn't seem to help him much tho.
That's true. We were always out-recruited, at least according to the "experts."

Been a canes fan for 40 Years, and I never remember us with a team of 4 and 5 star players. What we have is an
intangible with the Old OB and now hard Rock, City of Miami, Liberty City. and all that is Miami.
We win win again and win big.

Yup. The U has never been top dog in recruiting. It's always been about finding the home grown athletes that love The U.

Stevenson, Battle, Davis, Elam, Dent, Gant, that is alot of talent leaving our backyard. I knw we cant get them all but geeeezzzz and thats just one cycle. You guys can keep defending our DB coaches, if you dont see red flags I wish I had your innocence and optimism. We will not get to six with an exodus of talent, at that level, leaving So Flo.

But if we got them then the narrative would be. “**** how we let, Brownlee, Couch, Nunn, Smith go to X school and ball out. Man we should’ve took 20 DBs that class”. Difference with this is we have coaches that actually coach. @ me when we fail to develop kids. Until then appreciate the studs we are getting who are true Canes. We will always lose the kid to the bags which ends up getting us kids that are 💯 about this University. Does it hurt, yes. But y’all sound like Gaytor fans. Quit that ****.

Is it Saturday yet???

Every year there will be a few from down here who get paid. Dent, TS, Ladson this year. TC, Surtain, David, cook last year.

I just don’t understand why we waste time and resources recruiting guys that are bagged. The coaches have to know right?

Because you have to. The moment you don’t recruit a school we always get told we are abandoning our community. We don’t have a choice. It’s really the long game we have to play. Know one else has that level of responsibility in SFLA.

UM aint won the ACC ... ever. This ain’t your father’s cfb anymore. Richt needs to evaluate and sell, and win. Our hit rate will go up as our performance goes up. One partial year of excitement followed by three losses to end the year doesn’t a program make.
