Oh, until Al brings in a top DT class, he is note elite. DT and QB are what NCs are made of. He has failed miserably so far on DT and QB is up in air until we see on the field. Every QB we have now is his. One has to be a Miami level QB or Al has failed both test.

Now think of how strong we finished this year with Al's guys maturing and taking the helm. How can you not be assured that we are trending up? Al's elite recruiting is already paying huge dividends.

Besides quan(who couldn't get into his 1st choice ND) who else has this fat **** pulled from out of state hat is ELITE and had offers from elite schools. Agreed. Miami, like USC, recruits itself. ANYONE can get kids to come play at Miami, seriously look at this place. The fact he lets so many get away is really bad. He is an Average recruiter at best.

I believe it takes elite talent to defend a Tarpin screen attack. I also believe our defense has been trending up. If we get to play Maryland and Wake Forest in about three years, now that we are recruiting without the cloud, I think we hold them each under 400 yards.

Folks are so ready to defend or attack on this board, that I can't even make my dumb snide comments. No, I was not serious. Unfortunately, that was not the only game we got embarrassed at after having extra time to prep. I certainly will never root for us to lose, and I'm praying that everything comes together next year, but I am more than a little disillusioned watching the second half of this season. Worse yet, is hearing we are trending up. If the head man said there was a problem I could dream we will address it. This head in the sand ****e is no bueno and makes it hard for me to think we are in good hands and things will improve with a talent influx. Prove me wrong you fat *******!!!

So, Coker and Erickson are elite coaches?

That 2001 team was the exception, not the rule. They were built by a **** good HC in Butch. That type of talent on one team doesn't come around often. All Coker had to do was let them play. Its no surprise we got worse the longer Coker was in charge and more Butch's kids left the program. Erickson was good coach, knew his Xs and Os but wasn't a great CEO.

The absolute last straw for me is Fat Al managing to lose Travonte Valentine. Arguably the best and most dominant player in this class at a crucial and desperate position of need. An in state player who transfered to a HS in our backyard. A guy who wanted to be here. A kid whose parents want him here. All this and Big Fat Al still manages to lose him. How is that even possible? Elite? The guy is incompetent.

That and he may lose Moten to FSU who has DTs coming out of their ears while we have zilch and Guldens still whifs.

If talent is all that matters, please explain Ron Zook.

All the talent in the world won't matter if it is not coached up. Coaching and talent are both equally important to winning.

Zook's recruiting is overrated. His 2003 class set the foundation for Florida's national championship team. The 2002 class was ranked #20 with an average star rating of 2.95 (of if that really matters in the end). The 2003 class finished #4 with a 3.68 average. 2004 was #8 with a 3.33 average. Meyer had a small class in 2005, rated #11 but with one of the highest star ratings in the nation at 3.78. He then went #2 in 2006 (3.85) and #1 in 2007 (4.22), which set the foundation for his 2008 national title. His classes after that were not very good, thus Florida started to slip.
