The bigger point is that for the first time in weeks, the defense did what it should and is supposed to do to an offense and QB like Wake’s. Doesn’t mean they are going to turn into the 2003 defense but it means that we have some leeway if the offense is not playing perfect.

Not sure why WF didn't try to expose our DBs in the 2nd half but they put zero confidence in their QB's arm. They were basically one dimensional the 2nd half and their star RB was hurt.

We'll see what happens against Syracuse and McCord who can sling it. He's probably the best QB we've played all year.

They tried, but we pinned our ears back and blitzed the **** out of them! But also, we put 15 at free finally and 20 at strong and benched Worthless #7, and put Meech at nickel.

You cannot allow a team with a pulse, such as SMU for example, complete long drives against you and treat your secondary like they're a bunch of Optimist kids.

That's what's going to happen if this D doesn't shut teams down early in the game. Never mind the actual playoffs, when we'll run into Ohio State or, pray tell, Oregon.

Against Rhett Lashlee, if we wait until halftime to adjust, we'll be down by two to three scores. And that assumes we get past Syracuse.

We won the way we did because we were playing Wake. Period. That first quarter should have been a huge cause for concern.

In all fairness, we were blitzing heavily and getting quickly to him in the 2nd half, which we didn’t do at all in the 1st half. Our D sacked him 5 times in the 2nd half.

Yes, both GT and Wake are not good, but GT’s game plan and coaching was night and day to Wake. GT’s secondary also played phenomenal. As much as I wish it was true, there was absolutely no light bulb moment today.

Hold them to 1 TD and then shut them out even if they are starting at your own 35-40?

our defense has actually done this a few times this year. This team just starts slow and makes second half adjustments. Unfortunately, it finally caught them against GT.
