Let's take a good hard look at our 2009 and 2010 classes

God ****, Randy couldn't evaluate talent for ****. I would have better luck putting up scout.com's recruiting rankings and throwing darts.

I am pretty sure that is how Randy recruited but he is just a worse dart player than you.

No...the 2010 class especially was filled with guys 'identified' by Randy. Rodgers, Kevin Nelson, Brown, Cain, etc. were all found by Randy and not big recruits whatsoever. He knew he couldn't get top talent anymore so he was trying to find some hidden gems...they turned out to be ****.

Then you add in the fact that Golden had to put together a class that had nothing commited to it in about 6 weeks in 2011 and it should be easy to see why things are so bad. This is a total rebuild job folks. I think a lot of people thought just get rid of Shannon and bring in a culture change and we would be back. This roster needed a total over haul. Golden needs to recruit his *** off this year to put together the missing pieces from last years class.

Ive said this since the get go. This is a complete TOTAL rebuild.

We have fans who are complete idiots and who feel entitled AND who continue to live in the past.

Golden is here for a long time. This program needs one guy to help guide it through the next 5 years of rebuilding and to guide it through sanctions. If he can deliver this program in one piece after the NCAA sanctions are done, he will have done all of us a favor.

Anyone thinking we are firing anyone, for any reason until the NCAA cloud is passed is.........a typical delusional Miami Hurricane fan!

A few of my favorite Randy Specials from those classes...

Devont'a Davis - When I was able to see him on Greentree, was one of the worst players I've ever seen here. Was Kevin Nelson's buddy. Major scrub. Passed on Ricardo Allen in place of this bum.

David Perry - I knew he was a bum when he first came on the recruiting scene. Too skinny at the time, didn't produce much in HS. Once he got here, obvious to all he just sucked. Couldn't shed a block if it was just a tackling dummy.

Jimmy Gaines - Nothing says Randy Special like a MAC recruited kid getting a late offer from Miami when he swung and missed on everyone else. A "word of mouth" commitment, from one of Randy's buddies...right up there with John Calhoun.

Andrew Tallman - Actually, let me scratch that...nothing says Randy Special like a UMass level kid getting an offer in September.

Kelvin Cain - Speaking of Randy guys that he heard about from his buddies...Kelvin Cain, across the country, was kind of a scrub in HS, but hey, lets sign this guy up! Didn't even have a committable offer from Oregon State.

Delmar Taylor - I think he played 3 games in his life before we offered and accepted his commitment. Luckily, he was from the Bahamas or something and couldn't get in. Whew.

Shayon Green - Miss out on everyone else? Lets get a guy that doesn't even have a committable Purdue offer.

Billy Sanders - Yeah, no one knew who he was then, either.

Another Randy Special that never was, unfortunately...Raheem Buxton...oh man, that would have been great to have Raheem on the list.

These are guys that nearly everyone on all 'Canes forums were scratching their heads over when they committed...

These guys aren't just recruiting busts...I mean, listen...I'm not going to hate on getting a commit from Keion Payne...tons of teams wanted him. Same with the likes of Jeremy Davis and Jamal Reid. But some of these guys listed above...taking those commitments smells like someone who don't know what he's doing or doesn't care what is going on.

If ya'll recall, our recruiting coordinator spent most of his time in Jacksonville, landing a total of no one while courting his wife or something. Brutal.

Failing grades all around.

Honestly, 2010 was setting up to be a disaster as well. Anyone remember how many commits we had in November 2010 when Randy got fired?

We were striking out on EVERYONE. It was going to be a class of Buxtons. And that's not an exaggeration, either. It was looking BAD.

I think we had 10 commits and then 4 or 5 decommitted after he was fired.

I think even more decommitted cuz only Dorsett and Chick was on the list of commits from what I remember.

Could be. I just remember we had one official visit set up for December or some ****. It was ridiculous.

I believe we had 6 or 7 commits at the time, maybe 8 or 9.

Bridgewater, Eli Rogers, AJ Leggett, Albert Louis Jean, Marcus Jackson...and I forget who else decommitted. We pulled Menocal's scholy, and I'm not sure what ended up happening with Jeremy Davis.

2010 was headed for disasterville...Bridgewater is a stud. Everyone else...meh.

Leggett (no offense, Ariz)...a nickel at Marshall...Marshall.
Rogers is a decent mid-level WR.
Albert Louis Jean was average.
Marcus Jackson is a JAG.
Menocal is a MAC player.
Jeremy Davis is a bum.

We also were looking at and expecting commits from Jabari Gorman (JAG), Brandon Fulse who is ok I guess...BJ Dubose was another.

Kaleb Johnson was a stud that got injured during the summer, and Randy straight up stopped recruiting him.

Randy's backup plans to Bridgewater were uber scrubs like Kevin Sousa, Stevie Weatherford, and Marcus McDade. Randy never offered Dallas Crawford and as a result never had a shot with Sammy Watkins. His #1 target at WR was in USC's backyard that USC was recruiting the **** out of (George Farmer and Marquise Lee). He stopped recruiting Kelvin Benjamin very early. Was going after Rashad Greene and Nick O'Leary hard...they were never really going to come here, sadly. He took an offer off the table for Elkino Watson (was a freshman starter at South Florida at DT). Didn't recruit Robenson Therezie.

2010 was gonna be real bad.

A lot of us on the premium board knew it was coming from a mile away.

How many players have stepped on the field thus far in 2012? 47 total players, only 23 have seen the field thus far in 2012.
How many players are starting? 4 from 2009 (lol), 7 in 2010. 11 out of 47.

I'm not even going to get any deeper into it. It speaks for itself.

My sentiments exactly, and again, the predictions of 9+ wins are laughable.

And he is doing it under the threat of sanctions.
