Lets give Al a break

28-22 overall, 16-16 in the ACC, 7-5 in his 4th season.

Deal with it. Golden gets his 4 years now.

Sounds like you guys can't take a little constructive criticism, I'm a cane thru and thru but right is right and wrong is wrong deal with it.

I can when it makes sense and is fair.

The second you bring up Randy Shannon it is loses any logic or reasoning.

Admit you wish Randy was given a 5th year.

In all fairness, we dont have enough information on Golden to know what moves he has made that will turn out to be good. He's still an unknown whether thats what you want to hear or not.

Really?

The only thing that is questionable is his gameday management and beating inferior teams.

The guy can recruit with the best of 'em.

Let's wait and see. I don't want to turn this into a Shannon vs him thread, but at this point in their tenures, Shannon had already pulled the #1 class in the nation and we know how his tenure turned out. We really have no clue about him.

Somebody just said that he had a great body of work now he is an unknown, wow. I wish the excuses could be more consistent. I like Al but the only thing that matters is wins and losses period.

From all indications, Mathew Thomas' heart was never to play for Miami if he chooses to play elsewhere on Wednesday. We all know the staff did whatever they could as far as recruiting this young man. This staff works hard and they spend endless hours a week with phone calls and visits. It seems there were some shananigans going on with Kirkland and the $EC. It would have nice to put the fence around South Florida but the inabilities of the prier staff has let the $EC and Louserville come down and poach. All in all some kids will get away because they don't want to be Canes and staff can't do anything about that. I expected a feeder school like Booker T to feed the U with there top kids and the staff did also. Miami shouldn't have to wait until signing day with a Booker T kid with no indication on where he may go, that's unacceptable and Al had to make a statement. In Al I trust and so should you.

I'm growing real tired of people like you still blaming the old staff. GTFOH with that weak sauce. Al has been here long enough. stop the bull**** excuses are not solutions.

Big sky cane I rarely post so what does that mean, unlike Al my body of work is still unknown to you lol...

He's been here two ******* years you melanin obsessed morons. You were pleading for Randy to get 5, but after two seasons we can fully evaluate Golden? It's funny how the guy's biggest supporters seem to be dumber than the dent in his forehead.

Anytime you defend RS you automatically admit you are a moron.

No you apparently have an agenda, and most likely racially driven (my opinion), the fact is Golden has earned up to this point through his track record of success to be given the benefit of the doubt, while Shannon deserved his criticism through 4 years of gradual failure. It is facts of what Golden inherited and has had to overhaul here and repair, it is fact of what Golden had done to earn this opportunity here at the U, while it is fact of what Shannon had done to deserve criticism and firing. It is not race or anything else for that matter but the evidence of the failure on the field, and on the roster, and the lack of relationships with high school coaches. The head coach for the U could be purple, yellow, white, black, green, hindu, muslim, ******, atheist, and as long as he succeeds at his job, nobody here will care, and if he fails that's all they will care. Coker was the typical white America coach, and in the end we all wanted him gone, why? Because his record and results merited it. Golden on the other hand, was handed a beat up old classic car that needs to be restored, his record has shown the ability to do that, those in the know are saying he is doing just that, but the "process" is not done overnight, let alone with what he inherited here. Those are facts, this is not an apples to apples scenario. But you go ahead and keep telling yourself whatever you believe, it is clear when speaking to those who are guided by that kind of an agenda, facts will not be acknowledged. You clearly feel that this is a racial reason, and thus rational reasoning is not part of this equation.

And now this thread has offically been jacked into a ridiculous and baseless argument of Golden gets a pass because he's white and Shannon got attacked because he's black. Exit stage left

I guess Al and Shannon are judged on different scales. Al can do no wrong and Shannon could do no right huh.

They are. One has high level communication skills, organizational skills, management skills, a difficult previous HC gig in which he turned a disasterous program around, a great reputation around the profession and all at 43 years of age with a love for all things UM.

Now what what did Shannon actually bring to the head coachng gig that would garner him a benefit of the doubt when times got rough?

Nothing.

Why are you mad because your rational is not very good, consistency is all I ask for. I think we have a shot to do something special next year but if it doesn't happen I'm not gonna blame the kids who make no money off of this, I'm blaming the coach who is getting paid almost 2 million dollars and that's the difference between me and you consigliere.

AG pulled Duke, Bush, and Howard with the NCAA poo cloud lingering.

AG pulled kids from Central, Miramar, and Southridge.

Artie Burns was committed to Alabama at one point.

Recruiting is not a weakness for the man.

Their records are pretty close for him to be head and shoulder above Randy. Or did you not think about that, oh wait let me guess al had less talent when him came in right also not true.

Oh and Randy was the one that pulled Duke that and the fact that Duke said he wasn't going anywhere but Miami, anything else...

Good post.

Golden sells this program a **** of a lot harder than Shannon did. The UM product is 1 billion times better than it was under Shannon, as a whole.
