Leonard Taylor committing 8/6

manny was asking JJ for advice from beginning. He was also handcuffed by richt on who he can recruit and Kool can offer whoever he wanted. Im still not a fan but he shows a willingness to adjustment and he clearly craves speed.
Hasn't the same been said about MD in regards to Rumph being able to recruit who he wants?? Could just be rumors who knows. I will admit, MD has shown the ability to hype/sell and adjust which are critical to being successful. Let's just pray this translates to the field ASAP. Because if it does, we're about to see a snowball effect in the 305 that the CFB world will not want to see!

see I would like to keep Collins even with Taylor and keep 3 DTs. Moise not coming now, so need 3 DTs
You don't need 3 DT's stop it... lol ever DT will be back except Ford.. Lol They don't have enough goof film. Get 2 i 2022 or 1 monster.

Maybe Ishmael bypasses his Scholarship & comes in as a preferred walk-on since he can come to school for free based on his dad working at UM for a long time.

That opens up 1 scholly.
[/QUOTECan yall stop the goofy ****. He's not coming in on a pwo just because of who his dad is. Lmao

Tuition only. The rest ain't cheap, but might be do-able with Bright Futures/Prepaid College funds, etc.

Ivins mentions another angle in his recent podcast which is the fact that one or two kids might look elsewhere on their own, simply based on the level of depth and competition ..... He did not mention any names but if this happens, it is a way better process than pushing kids out. I don't see Manny pushing people out anyway.

This convo is annoying. There is no chance that is happening. Fun to talk about but Ishmael earned his Scholarship.

Not a question of earned/not earned.

It's just a question of whether a discussion and/or agreement has taken place.

Look, we're all glad that the kid is a 4-star talent. But don't you think that the family has had this discussion, say, when he was in 8th grade and had no idea if he would become a 4-star talent?

Victor could send all of his kids to school on tuition remission. That is a massive benefit of continuing employment at UM. Families tend to plan for how to pay for college years in advance of finding out if one or more kids has Division I football talent.

You never know. I'm not saying this IS going to happen, and I'm not saying it IS NOT going to happen, but it certainly is an option.

Can we please stop sounding ridiculous with the Ishmael not counting talk. Y'all are killing me with that nonsense.

That's like telling a person looking for guaranteed money in a contract that you will get it done after a year depending on yadda yadda yadda.

It makes ZERO sense to him and his family to do that.

it isnt tech for free which is the issue. room and board will have to paid by the family and same with books and other costs. the full athletic ship is more than a full academic ship. with covid not going away and their practice schedules, i doubt UM wants him living at home either

There’s ways around things lol, they think they can get the full twenty five , there’s not many options of making that work. It’s just spitballing on how. Unless they know of a change coming by the NCAA.

Read the rules.

Also, what track events would Ishmael compete in?
Can you point the rules out to me as I obviously did not know them? Also I did not anticipate any. He wouldn’t need the scholarship, only the benefits of being a collegiate athlete such as tutoring and stipend. Thanks.

also in this scenario, he'd be a reg student not on athletic ship, how does that work with the extra benefits that athletes get (which is paid for by the athletes ship -- training table, etc.)? they get more meals than normal students paying room and board and have access to the special nutritional stuff. its not his job to give up a well earned ship. thats on the coaches to make it work.

It's all interesting stuff.

Academic scholarships (including room/meals/fees) have a value. You can't give a kid an 80-meal (per week) plan. You can't give a kid the equivalent of a Brickell condo. I'm sure there is a dollar-amount placed on the "training table meal plan", and if a walk-on wants to pay the extra cost (above the "everyday student" 20 meal plan), I'm sure they can do so.

I couldn't. But I'm sure a walk-on would be allowed to do so.
